Readers pov

  It's been a couple of days since you been driving, your car is getting low on gas so you parked in this parking lot for a tall building that looked abandoned. You knew what was going on in the world now. That thing that killed your parents also known as walkers apparently are everywhere now. If you got bit by one you turn to those ugly things. You first get a high fever and then slowly you start turning to one them. So, if someone turns or if you see one you must stab through the head or through eye only way they will die. You've seen some but never killed one so far. Usually when you saw you would run away from it. You are scared and by yourself, you had no more family and that was scary.

You got out of your car and walked into this building You were on the second floor when you heard screaming from the roof

"Don't leave me, man, don't leave me!" a guy exclaimed

A different guy said, "I'm sorry man"

Then the first guy said "Damn you all! Don't leave me, man! Don't leave... don't leave me! You'll die! Go to hell! Damn you! You're gonna rot in hell!"

No more screaming after that.

But you heard footsteps racing towards so you hid. They ran past you so you got up from your hiding spot and decided to go see what happened on the roof. You ran up the stairs and unchained the chain that was on the door. When you heard a car alarm driving through, you ran through the door and saw this guy handcuffed to the pipe but paid no attention to him. You walked to the ledge to look down and saw a red car driving fast through the streets, while a big white truck parked in the garage and a girl and three guys climbed in the back, when they were all in there they closed the back and drove away with the red car in front of them.

You let a big sigh of relief, that's until you remembered someone was handcuffed on the roof with you. So, you started to walk past him when he said

"Where is ya going?"

You didn't answer him just stared at him.

"The names Merle. What's yours?" Merle said

You sighed looking down at the ground deciding if you wanted to tell him your name or not. You decided to tell him.

"Y/N," you said

He just nodded,

"Are ya alone out here or are ya with someone?" he asked

You sat down by the side of the door,

"Alone," you said trying to choke down the tears forming in your eyes

He nodded again

"You? Are you alone or with people?" You asked knowing he wasn't and see if he told you the truth or not.

"I was. But as you can see they left me here handcuffed," he said

You nodded

"Why?" you asked

He laughed and just looked away shaking his head.

You sighed and leaned against the wall and just looked how destroyed the world was.

Until you heard Merle ask

"Got anything to eat? Haven't eaten anything since 2 days ago."

You looked through your Y/F/C backpack, you haven't eaten or drunk anything so you pulled out a granola bar with chocolate and some water

You walked over to him opening the water and the wrapper of the bar and handed it to him.

"Here you go, I know it's not much but it's something." you said

He took it and drank some water and took a bite of the bar.

"It's better than nothing, thanks," he said

You nodded and went back to where you were sitting and just looked at the world again. Feeling helpless and alone.
