change in perspective.

When Josh walked into his house he could already hear his parents yelling from the kitchen. It was probably the same old thing. His mom complaining that Josh is too independent for his age, and his dad using the same reply. "He's an 18-year-old boy! A man almost. Men should be independent at a young age." His mind was so set on the 'roles' of men and women. Too bad those 'roles' were from years ago, and not caught up in today's time.

Josh sighed before making his way to the heated argument. They didn't even notice him walk into the kitchen, so he cleared his throat to get their attention. "Hello. Mr. and Mrs. Dun acknowledge your only child before he slips between your fingers," Josh said sarcastically, annoyed with his childish parent's constant bickering. They both turned to Josh, aggravation clear on their faces. But that soon changed, and both of their jaws dropped as they stared at Josh.

The stickers that littered his biceps, chest, and stomach were clear as day through his basically translucent white muscle tee. Even more on his face, with little glitter streaks traced around them from Tyler's fingers tracing over him. His face heated up at the thought of the boy on his lap with his fingers gazing over his lips. "I-Is that glitter in your hair?" His dad gasped looking like he was about to pass out, which Josh thought was incredibly dramatic. It's not that big of a deal, it's not like he's covered in drugs and coming home smelling like pot. Though his parents probably wouldn't be surprised, since his best friend is Brendon Urie.

"What's the problem?" Josh's voice came out so monotone and disinterested, but the nonchalant look on his face said enough. He had no interest in his close-minded parents thought of him or anything he did. He could decide for himself on what he felt is or isn't okay for him to do. "Son, what's all of that?" His dad asked, and Josh sighed.

"That question was so unnecessary you can obviously tell I am covered in stickers and glitter. It's really not hard to tell, I know you're smarter than that dad. But to answer what should've been your question. I was across the street with Tyler our neighbor, who decided that I'd look good like this." His mom rolled her eyes at Josh's sass. She's always hated that he most of the time acted as if he was more mature than his own parents. But being alone for most of your life could do that to a person, so Josh blamed her for that.

"Josh stop being so disrespectful! You need to stay away from that boy okay? No more hanging around that Tyler boy." His mom spoke, and Josh chuckled quietly. "No can do. He's officially my best friend and I plan to spend most of my free time with him, so we can either let the stay away from him discussion end now or have an argument over nothing. But to be quite honest I have work tomorrow and can't waste any more time on this subject. You do not control me, and even if you tried you're never home to do a good job of it. Glad this was settled, I am going to my bedroom now." Josh walked away, leaving both of his parents lost for words. His mom was boiling on the inside, but what could she do? He was always one step ahead.

She tried many ways to get her son to just obey her, but he always had something up his sleeve. He even made his parents sign a contract that basically said he couldn't be kicked out of his house until he was done with high school. She had to admit she was impressed with the well thought out contract, but she just wanted Josh to act like he was her son. But of course not.

"Also Tyler's mom was wondering how you were doing." Josh called from upstairs, his voice followed by the sound of a door closing.
