Monsters not monsters
They whisper the words I long to hear
The words that bring me comfort
As he plays his cello across my skin
Leaving music notes for them to decipher

Monsters not monsters
But rather my best friend
Or rather the only friends I've known
As we play in the shadows
Where they can not find us
Where we leave our trail
Footprints like the snail
Except we don't want to be found

Monsters not monsters
He raps his arms around my neck
And whispers you are beautiful
As he strokes my hair
Trying to calm the earthquake with in
As the oceans in my eyes hit high tide
Leaking from the walls of my eyelids

Monsters not monsters
They only ones who knew how to set me free
As he rages out on my wrist exposing my pain
And the artist paints red across the nations
Just so they could see what they had done
Not a thought of regret or forgiveness
As he pulls the trigger
Thank you

Monsters not monsters
I thank you for you have done what I was to scared to do
You have healed my broken wings
And taught me how to fly
You have set me free

Monsters not monsters
Don't call them that
Because you were the ones that broke me.
So rather say flowers not flowers
Because only the lost will see then bloom.
