"Well?" Val asked as I helped her in the kitchen to make dinner later.
"Well what?" I asked, leaning against one of the countertops, watching her dice onions.
"What do you think of the guys?" She asked.
"I don't know." I shrugged.
"What do you mean you don't know?" She laughed. "You just met them."
"Well what do you want me to say?" I askedl, pushing myself up to the countertop.
"I don't know, maybe you were wrong?"
"I wasn't wrong." I said. "They're exactly who I thought they would be... well Synyster Gates is."
Val caught a disgust in my tone when I said Brian's stage name and she frowned.
"You know Brian's not that bad."
"Not that bad?" I repeated. "He's rude, he's cocky, he's-"
"Amazingly sexy." Someone interrupted.
I looked up to see Brian leaning casually in teh kitchen doorway with his Fedora pulled over one eye.
"And a jackass." I finished, narrowing my eyes at him.
"Oh so you don't disagree that I'm amazingly sexy?" He said flashing me an annoying, yet slightly hot- wait. I did not say that. Annoying smirk.
"You are so full of yourself, you know?" I said.
"But you love it." He said, not losing the smirk.
"Oh please." I scoffed, hoping down off the counter and walking to the door which he was still blocking. "Move."
"What's the magic word?" Brian taunted. Val was still chopping onions near the bubbling pot by the stove but I could tell she was trying not to laugh at what was going on.
"Now." I said darkly.
"Ohh."He mocked. "Fiesty."
"Are you going to move?" I demanded.
"Well that depends." He said smiling.
"Careful Brian." Val warned.
"On what?" I asked, ignoring Val's comment.
"Do I get a kiss?" He asked.
"How about a fist?" I asked pulling my hand from my side.
"So fiesty." He smirked, but moved out of the doorway to let me pass.
"Let me know when dinner's ready Val." I called behind me as I walked back into the living room where the rest of the guys were all sitting around drinking and watching football game.
"Go, go, go, go go!" Jimmy, Zachy, Johnny and Matt shouted at the television.
"Men." I muttered, rolling my eyes as I sat down on the end of the couch leaving a space between me and Zachy. I would never understand the concept of that sport no matter how hard I try. In my opinion it was just another sport invented that gave men the excuse to grab each other.
"NO!" Jimmy shouted, making me jump slightly. "Tackle him!"
I glanced at the television to see a man in a blue and white jersey run into the end zone as Zachy, Jimmy, Johnny, and Matt all groaned.
"How're we doing?" Brian, much to my disgust, asked as he walked into the living room.
"Patriots are killing us." Matt said, sipping his beer.
"Damn." Brian muttered as he plopped himself down in the couch between me and Jimmy.
I tried discretely inch away from him as far as I could against the armrest but he noticed and flashed me a develish smirk.
"Oh, Val said foods done if anyone wants any." Brian said.
"Hang on a minute guys, stay out of the kitchen for a bit." Matt said standing up from the armchair he was in.
"How come?" Zachy whined. "I'm hungry."
"If you favor your ife, you'll keep out." Matt said threateningly.
"Aw Shads you're doing it now?" Jimmy asked.
"Doing what?" I asked.
"You'll see." Matt said grinning as he left the room.
"See what?" I asked anyone. "What's he doing?"
"Wait for it." Brian said holding up a hand to silence me as the guys craned their necks over the back of the couch to see the doorway.
"For what?!" I hissed.
"Shhh!" Brian said covering my mouth. "Just wait."
I immediately jerked backwards and smacked his hand away once it made contact with my lips and was about to yell at him when Val's unmistakable shriek of excitement came from the kitchen.
"I take that as a yes." Zachy laughed.
"You bet your ass is does!" Matt said triumphantly as he led Val into the living room by the hand. Val was still gazing at the newest edition to her left hand with an expression of pure shock mixed with awe.
"I'd knew she'd say yes." Jimmy said. "Congrats gusy."
"You knew he was going to asked me?" Val asked, looking up at the guys.
"Since he bought the ring last month." Zachy said.
"We should celebrate." Johnny said. "Joe's?"
"Eight o'clock on Friday night?" Brian asked. "That place is gonna be packed."
"That's okay, I have a few ideas of my own on how to celebrate." Matt said with a sly smile as he grabbed Val by the hand and went upstairs and my guess, to one of the spare bedrooms there.
"Not in my room!" Brian shouted after them.
"Great." I said sarcastically. "There goes my ride home."
"I could give you a ride." Brian offered.
I glared at him but remember that he was the only one there that hadn't been drinking, suprisingly. So unless I wanted to walk all the way back to my apartment, he would have to ride me.
"Fine." I said giving up. "Where's your car?"
"That wasn't the kind of ride I was talking about." He said grinning wickedly.
"You are disgusting."
"It turns you on, admit it." He said, still not losing the grin.
"You wish." I spat darkly before getting up from the couch.
"Let me know if you change your mind." He laughed as I stormed out of the room and up the staircase.
