Chapter 7 - Glad You Came

Hannah’s POV.

Today we were going to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge with the boys. They had admitted to it after lots of whimpering about the height and quite some convincing on our part.

I dragged myself out of bed and started getting ready.

I chose to wear a pair of blue skinny jeans and a black and white oversized knit.

I had a shower to wake myself up and resumed getting ready.

Forty minutes later I was walking out the door, dressed and ready.

I pulled my iPhone off charge and threw it into my handbag, which I slung over my shoulder as I closed the door behind me.

Outside, the boys’ black van was waiting and I stumbled in.

“Hey Hannah!” Zayn greeted first.

“HANNIE!” Louis yelled.

The others all greeted me, including the other girls who had been picked up before me.

“Hello guys!” I laughed, “Ready for the huge, terrifying, scary-“

“Ok Han, get to the point hun...” Harry interrupted.

“Climb up the Harbour bridge?” I finished.

“Yeah, I’m ready to shine, I’ll make it to the top in a minute!” Louis said excitedly.

“Lou, you’re about as fit as an...” Harry began.

“Obese Elephant?” Rachael suggested.

“Am not!” Louis complained, “I’m as fit as a fiddle!”

“Whatever you say...” Harry said, rolling his eyes.

“Have fun!” The lady said as she finished attaching my harness.

“Thank you!” I replied.

“You’re not afraid of heights are you?” she asked.

“No, not at all! However, these guys... That’s a whole new story” I rolled my eyes and she simply let out a light laugh in reply.

“Right, well let’s go!” Liam said grabbing Georgia’s hand and pulling her behind him.

Everyone made their way up the bridge and left Zayn and I standing behind.

“Well shall we go?” Zayn asked linking his arm in mine.

“Sure” I smiled.

Zayn seemed to be focusing more on climbing, rather than talking, but he eventually broke the silence.

“They seem pretty friendly” he said, gesturing towards Georgia and Liam. Liam had one arm around her shoulder and she was giggling at something he said.

“Mm, they do. She really likes him...” I replied.

“He likes her too” Zayn stopped to look at me for a moment and smiled.

“Rachael and Louis had a connection right from the start too...” I pointed out.

“True. She’s the joker in your group?” he questioned.

“Yeah” I rolled my eyes.

 “Ella likes Niall right?” he asked.

“Yeah, he’s always been her favourite from the very start. Why?” I answered.

“She’s almost playing hard to get?” Zayn replied.

I just shrugged and we continued to climb, we were almost at the middle now.

“OH MY CARROTS WE MADE IT!” Louis yelled.

“Don’t look down now Louis” I laughed.

“Hmph, not funny” he pouted, then looked downwards, “AHHH, SAVE ME HARRY!” he said jumping into Harry’s arms.

I grabbed my iPhone out of my pocket. Careful not to drop it, I snapped a picture and uploaded it to Twitter.

I put it away carefully and walked over next to Zayn who had moved over to the edge to inspect the view.

“I’m not going near the edge” Ella complained, “You made me come up here, but I’m not dare looking down”

Ella did not particularly like heights either.

Niall put his arms around her waist and slowly moved towards the rail. “Sometimes you gotta be brave” he said to her quietly, quoting what she had said when she had been thrown off Apache.

The horrified look disappeared and she let a smile spread across her face.

“Thank you” she whispered back.

They continued their conversation, but I got interrupted by Zayn making our own conversation.

“It’s so beautiful. I’m glad we came to Australia” he said, pulling me into a hug.

“I’m glad you came...” I whispered.

He pulled out of the hug so we were facing each other.

“Hannah, will you go on a date with me?” he asked.

I felt light headed and lost my breath. I needed to think.

As I started to fall, Zayn caught me in his arms and knelt, just looking at me, waiting for some sort of response, but I just couldn’t speak.
