Selene Addams was never good with choosing good men. Every time she chased after one, she was left on her knees with a broken heart and slumped shoulders. One day, during her last summer as a high school student, she made a vow to herself that she would stay single her senior year. Apparently the world had another idea.
One night Alice called Selene to ask her if she wanted to do bible study. Selene immediately said yes before saying goodbye and hanging up the phone, quickly getting dressed. She donned on a pair of blue skinny jeans and tank top, tying a flannel shirt around her waist in case it grew cold. Ironically, she slid on flip flops, not bothering with tennis shoes. She heard a honk from outside and tied her hair into a ponytail to keep it out of her face as she ran out the door. She didn't know what to expect, but she didn't expect a truck that she would have to struggle to get into, thanks to her 5'3 frame.
When she finally got into the truck on the passenger seat, she finally noticed the driver who was in fact not an adult nor a female. She glared at her friend who was in the back seat, cuddled up against some guy from her school. Alice just shrugged and grinned. When she spoke, Selene was sure she would regret getting into the vehicle. "Hey I hope you don't mind, but bible study got canceled last minute. We're just going to hang out." Selene just sighed, accepting her fate of being a third wheel with someone she didn't know at all. On the way to Starbucks she stayed quiet, unsure of what to say. She opted to look out the window, listening to the rap music blaring from his radio. She studied him from the corner of her eye: black hair with purple highlights, brown eyes, beanie on his head, skinny frame with subtle muscles, and glasses. She started to think to herself. Hmm. Maybe tonight won't be a waste at all. She went back to looking out the window thinking about her vow to herself, a vow that didn't seem to be lasting long.
Thirty minutes after getting Starbucks, they found themselves in the small town beside hers. They parked in a Walmart parking lot and hopped out before going into the large department store. After only a few minutes, Selene was regretting letting Alice get Starbucks. Suddenly Alice started to run towards some bins. "Look Selene, it blue! It would look great in my room, don't you think?" Selene sighed and shook her head grinning.
"Do you really need them?"
"W-Well no but....." Alice stared at the bins with longing in her eyes.
"No buts. Leave it alone." Selene grabbed Alice gently by the arm and began to pull her away from the bins.
Alice started to pout before running off again, now to a rug. After dealing with this for about forty-five minutes, they finally left to go to the park near Selene's house. When they reached the park they got out of the truck again, Alice more like jumping out of it and running on the track immediately. Selene laughs watching Alice run as she tried to shimmy out of the seat. After slipping out and almost falling on her face she closed the door, starting towards the track. She started to realize that Alice used tonight to hang out with the guy she saw her cuddling up against in the back seat, leaving her with a stranger to talk to. Oh you so owe me Alice...
So what do you guys think? Should I continue? Lemme know what you think in the comments :).
