I took a deep breath as I slowly released it. I gentally put my hand to knock on the door as it swung open, revieling one of the devals. I gasped in shock as I looked at him. He was tall for a devil, a little taller than me. He just leaned up against the doorframe with a big smirk on his face. "Oh and I'm guessing your up here for Rem?" he asked as he started circling around me, studying me. I stood there, speechless and frozen, not knowing what he would do. I gulped silently as he bent closer to me, sniffing me. I opened my eyes to see if I was imaging it, but nope, he was sniffing me. My eyes widened as I looked at him, still frozen in fear. "You smell...wait a minute" he said as he came closer, taking deeper inhales.
He took a few steps back as he looked at me. I looked away a bit, but he ended tilting my head in his direction. "Are you sure, your just here to see Rem?" he said in concern. Unable to speak, I gulped then nodded. "Y...Yes" I said trying to not show fear. He patted my shoulder, staring into my eyes. I'm pretty sure he was watching the fear inside of me as he smiled. "Mage, leave her alone" Rem said as he met us at the door. The devil looked at him, then back at me as he backed up and left. I watched him as he kept looking back at me, then finally went downstairs. "Uh, sorry about that" Rem said as I still looked at the staircase. Finally I looked at him. He looked more professional, and less childish. I knew that he was top dog around here, but I didn't know he looked so powerful. "Come in and sit" he said as he gestured me into the room. I sat in one of the chairs in front of his desk as he shut the door, locked it and made it back to his desk.
He sat down as he gave me an evil stair. "Why did you come here?" he said angrily. I huffed, trying not to give him attitude. "I was forced here by mom to try and get along with you. But I'm already feeling like it's not going to work out." "Well your still a trouble maker, and I know how you fear me." I didn't say anything, just looked nervously into his eyes, and watched him play with his pen. I studied his face as he grew a smile, and chuckled a bit. "Do you understand that you are in a devil household?" "Y...Yes. But I'm trying to get along with you." "But you fear me." I didn't answer him, just nodded. He smiled as he leaned back in his chair and put his feet on the desk. "You know that no one else knows your fear. I kept it a secret." I looked at him before speaking. Do I dare mention my conversation on the way up here? I nodded in my decision. "Well, I told a guy named Lindo, but he's keeping it a secret. And I feel like I trust him." "So you trust an exorcist more than your stepbrother?" I nodded in silence.
Rem huffed as he leaned over his desk. "Do you realize what would happen if they found out about your fear?" I got the sense that he didn't want to do this any more than I did. "Probably something weird, but keep me hidden from them this week, I'll leave, and we won't have to see each other again." Rem grunted in anger. "You still don't understand devils, you never did." I huffed but didn't reply. "Maybe a week is too long." I looked at him with anger. "Maybe I'll leave and not even go back to our parents." Rem huffed as he got up from his desk. "I'll show you to your room, then don't talk to me and please play it safe."
I huffed as we walked out of the room and down the hall. We stayed silent the whole way. I kept looking strait as I followed Rem. He kept walking but looked back at me every couple of minutes. "What" I said getting tired of it. He just staired at me, then looked back as we continued. He took me in front of a double doors, and opened them. The room was a master bedroom, with a king sized bed and a grand view of the town. "I hope you make it out alive" Rem said as the door closed tightly behind me, leaving me in the room alone. The only thing I did was look at the door in fear.
