There are many ways i have seen it
Perilous and safe
Muddy wet and gray dry
Sorrowful and gleeful
Like many seasons life is
It has comforts and woes
It has sorrows and cares
It has troubles and joys
This mountain right here is
Many of those and more
Witness to trails of old and new
Of friends lost and found
Always bewitching these peaks are
Pictures of failures and victories
For between a mountain and its hiker
There is more into it --
a life imprinted on its trails.
