Triggers: negative self-image and intrusive thoughts, swearing

Evan was starting to get used to this. Every so often Jared would just start to pull away. Evan always took this as a cue to give him so space, some time to feel better, but he was starting to think this was the wrong thing to do.

It all started at lunch on day. Jared seemed to be fine until one of the other people at their table made a choice comment about his teeth. Sure he kind of had buck teeth but Evan thought it was cute, there was no reason to make fun of it. After that comment Jared got very quiet, he wouldn't even look up at Evan when Evan took his hand.

After lunch Evan lead Jared off into an empty classroom and tried to get him to explain.

"What's wrong Jer?" Jared shook his head and insisted that everything was fine. Evan let it slide, though he was still suspicious.

Then Evan didn't get any text during sixth. Jared always texted him during that period because he had pre-cal and he hated it. It always made Evan smile because it meant that Jared felt better when he was texting Evan. Evan checked his phone every few minutes until the bell rang and nothing.

Seventh passed and Evan still hadn't heard a thing from Jared. Evan was starting to piece together what was wrong. Over the years, Evan has learned that Jared was very insecure. It became more obvious when the two started dating. If Jared ever felt like Evan was drifting away he would get defensive, his jokes would hit a little too close to home.

So as soon as seventh was over Evan bolted out of his seat and began to weave through the crowd of students. He didn't even bother to stop at his locker, instead, he went straight to Jared's. He found Jared standing with a frighteningly blank expression.

Evan dropped his books and pulled Jared into a tight hug.

"Have I ever told you how cute your teeth are?" Evan could tell Jared was about to respond but he kept going, "Or how adorable it is when you snort when you're laughing? Or how much your smile means to me? Or How much I love to hug you because you're so soft and warm?" Evan continued, he listed every little detail he loved about Jared. Jared started crying somewhere in the middle but Evan just held him tighter.

They continued to hold each other tight even a few minutes after Evan finished. Jared was the one to break the embrace.

"Have I ever told you how much I love you," Jared smiled up at Evan through tears. Evan leaned down and gave Jared a quick kiss, he pulled back to rest his forehead against Jared.

"Every damn day,"
