Sea of Trees

in the sea of trees,

i lie

buried under the willow

that was planted in my honor

-

in the sea of trees,

i hang

still there from when they
forgot to get me down

-

in the sea of trees

i sit

dead in the sand
with the pills in my hand

-

we sit silently

waiting for someone to come
waiting for our deaths to make you numb

they'll weigh you down until you break
and make you suffer until you shake

you come at risk
or come in pain
never knowing if you'll go insane

curiosity is dangerous here
and so is jukai

the most famous place
where you go to die

(a poem contributed to The Suicide Forest in Japan, also known asAokigahara. This is madein honor of the victimswho came to the forest to take their own lives.I don't think thosepeople get enoughrecognition. Most peoplethink of the famousattraction as just a tourist site, but manypeople come therestill to take their lives, and people might not even know it. Some people stillmight not be found, or identified yet. Please givethis more recognition, because these people deserve to be remembered.)
