"...And that is why you should not fire lasers at a persons hair."
Our teacher, mr. Crimson, is standing in the middle of the gym with his hands on his hips. On his left side stands Amethyst Rose, a short girl with beautiful black hair and strikingly purple eyes. But today her hair is smoking, almost burnt. The reason is grinning from the other side of mr.Crimson. It is Sean Black, tall and green eyed. As usual, he has beaten Amethyst in battle, but the unusual thing today is, that for some reason, he decided to test lasers on her hair. He is a very gifted elemental manipulator (E.M for short) with a specialisation in fire and heat. He grins at the audience of students around him, as if he won a prize. "Well," he starts " I didn't burn it completely... I was just testing." Amethyst makes an annoyed sound. "Yeah, sure you were. You were aiming for my hair! I am not believing a second that you just "accidentally" made my hair burn to ashes. Maybe I should throw you in the fountain again. A birdbrain like you could have good use of a bath." She makes a face at him. He grimaces back, laughing. It is so weird.
You see, these two used to be enemies. Not I-don't-really-like-you enemies, but I-hate-you-and-your-family-with-all-my-guts enemies. They couldn't stop fighting. Amethyst even threw Sean in the fountain once, because he burned her homework. But suddenly, it just changed. Sean had managed to burn Amethyst horribly during a fight, and she was passed out in the hospital wing for two days. Then she came back, and suddenly she and Sean were the best of friends. If I was her, I would use my awesome telepathy powers (she's a psychic) and throw him into the fountain again. But I guess something happened. Mr. Crimson might have had something to do with it. He seems to have become a connection between the two. They refer to him as "S", and he keeps them away from murdering each other. It has become rather peaceful around after that."Hey, how's your hair doing?" We are in the girls changing room. Mina is looking over at Amethyst, inspecting her hair. It is not very different, just a little shorter and smelling of smoke. "Totally fine. No need to worry." Amethyst waves us off, changing into a grey t-shirt. "It looks kinda bad." Mary, a girl in class I don't remember the surname of, is also looking at Amethysts hair. "You want me to fix it?" Amethyst smiles at the healer. "No need. I can just cut it off later. It was getting annoying anyways. And," she adds, "if I have shorter hair, Sean won't be able to hit me as easily."
I smile at the statement, as we both know he will hit her just as much next time. I hear a snicker behind me, and turn to see Lily Hanson standing by the door, together with her friend, a girl I don't know very well. I think her name is Viola? Anyways, Lily, smartest girl in class, Specialised in Spells, under the category of long distance. (Missiles and things that affect other people. May also include shields.) She is tall, with waist-long silver hair. She has a very pointed face, and she claims herself to have elven ancestors. It is not hard to believe.
"It's really funny, you know." She looks mockingly at Amethyst. "You two look just perfect together. Why don't you just propose
already?" She grins at Viola(?) and they laugh. Amethyst sighs. Here we go again. You know, all things considered, Lily isn't that bad. She is kind and helpful most of the time, but she just doesn't tolerate Amethyst. They used to be friends, but after Amethyst became best friends with Sean, she has just gotten colder and colder. I think Lily likes Sean, and therefore (as we girls have a tendency to do) believes Amethyst is her rival. It is stupid. Luckily I don't know my crush that well...
ANYWAYS,
Amethyst sighs again. "You know, It is nice to hear that you think we look good together and all, but usually a relationship becomes a thing before a marriage. And it is usually the boy who proposes." Amethyst smiles ever so slightly. Lily scoffs at that, and just turns away to leave, Viola following right by. Amethyst stands up, grabs her bag and leaves without another word. I sigh. "I really think they're just friends." The rest of the girls nods in agreement. I turn around to grab my bag, and almost misses Minas mumbling:
"They would look cute together, though."
