"Send another weak "I'm sorry,"
unforgivable as always
I knew you had seen somebody
Was it worth causing all my darkest days?
She was at your party, you said not to worry"

Brand New Chanel$ - Slayyyter

(another theme song for this novel)

Somehow she made it home.

Barely remembering the ride over, or how she made it up to the highest floor.

All she could think about was the kiss. One that wasn't supposed to happen unless she was paid $10,000.

Inside the apartment she tried to be as quiet as possible. Jeongguk liked to sleep early on the weekdays.

She almost went to the bedroom, before her stomach rumbled. Damn, she didn't realize she hadn't had a single meal all day. She instead gorged herself on Jimin's company and the sweet memory of maple coffee.

She slid into the kitchen, pulling out some hummus and chips. When she turned to sit in the living room, the light switched on.

And she dropped her damn hummus!

Jeongguk sat in his leather recliner, waiting for her, expression was entirely void of any emotion.

Her hand rested over her too-quick heart. "Hey uh, I'm really impressed by your 1940s film noir detective bit, but couldn't you have given me some kind of warning before scaring the living shit out of me?"

Jeongguk ignored her, clenching his fist tightly.

"Also," she pointed to the spilt food. "You're cleaning that up."

He definitely wouldn't. But she thought she'd try.

"Is this why you haven't been replying to my texts?" He leaned forward, threading his fingers together. "My calls?"

She laughed, touching her forehead. "Silly me. I forgot to tell you I was stopping by my office. My phone died and I wasn't able to charge it."

Jeongguk let out a humorless laugh, standing up from out of the chair.

"You're walking in late at night after ignoring me for hours and you're obviously high?" He said pointedly, pacing around the living room.

Celine nearly choked, retorting, "high? I'm not high, you're probably high!"

Why did he even think that? Because she was hungry?

She watched his whole face sink, body looking tired as he regarded her insult.

"Oh, good one. Cut the shit Celine, you never eat this late!" He yelled. "So what were you doing? Who were you with? Better yet, who were you doing drugs with?"

The accusation was almost more ridiculous than what actually happened.

"You caught me." She threw her hands up. "I'm a raging pothead. In fact, I've smoked the entire city's supply tonight because my boyfriend told me my art is shitty and I'm nothing without my pretty face. Are you happy now?" Celine deadpanned.
