Karissa's POV

When Nico grabbed my hand, I saw what he went through in a second. I guess I blacked out again because when I opened my eyes I was on the ground with Nico next to me. Saying "Please be okay" in Greek. When Nico saw my eyes he hugged me and I did something I've never been able to do, hug back. When we let go I cried because I felt safer than ever with Nico, so I let it all out.

Nico's POV

When we let go of the hug Karissa started crying and I realized she felt safe when I'm around. When Hazel walked over and saw her "What in Hades did you do to her?" She screeched. Karissa heard and got scared and moved closer to me. Hazel saw and glared "What do you think you're doing?" Hazel scowled. Karissa said in a whisper "Nico, who's that?" "Karissa this is Hazel, you and I, are her half brother and sister," I said in a very calming tone "Hazel this is Karissa Michelle Di Angelo, my twin, and the reason why we are here."

Karissa's POV

When Nico said we have a half sister I was happy, but my face probably looked terrified, because Nico asked "What's wrong?" "One of my bullies is named Hazel," I said in a whisper "And she is second to Katrina, my main bully." At that sentence I started to cry again Nico pulled me into a hug and Hazel joined as well. "I'm abused, bullied, and starved." I said and Nico pulled away and looked at me and said " I'm gonna help, find a way to get you away from this place, and keep you safe, okay." I nodded and he pulled me close again.

Nico's POV

I will forever protect you, I thought as I held Karissa close when I looked at her she had drifted to sleep. I smiled and woke her up. Karissa's eyes fluttered open and she smiled "We have 30 minutes till school starts," I said " Come on we still have to walk." We then started walking in silence, not the uncomfortable type the comfortable type.
