• Chapter 1 •

Caterina's seat shook underneath her as she opened her eyes and looked around. She was sitting in a decently large shuttle filled with other delinquents

'You're awake, I thought you were dead.' A girl beside Cat spoke. Caterina turns her head to see a girl with dark brown hair falling around her face

'Where are we?' Caterina questioned not remembering much since she fell asleep in the skybox

'A shuttle, heading to Earth. They're giving us a second chance and it's also to let them know if Earth is liveable again.' The other girl responded

'Also, I'm Claudia, Claudia Romara.' The girl spoke up again after a few moments

'I'm Caterina Leif.' Caterina replied looking around the shuttle to see if she could notice anyone

'You know, I think we're gonna be good friends Caterina.' Claudia says as Caterina turns to her new friend and smiles

The landing was rough; Caterina didn't want to think about it ever again. It made her feel sick

Now she and Claudia were waiting for everyone else to go down the ladder. Caterina quietly climbed down and stood there. Claudia, on the other hand, noticed something. A girl standing on the ladder staring at the boy who was about to open the door

'Bellamy?' A girl, Octavia, stood on the ladder and looked at the boy, Bellamy, standing next to the lever which opened the door

Whispers could be heard as Octavia pushed through the crowd to the door where her brother was stood

'My God, look how big you are.' Bellamy pulled his sister in for a hug. Cat watched from afar remembering that no one had siblings on the Ark

'What the hell are you wearing? A guard's uniform?' Octavia questioned looking at the symbol for 'The Ark Guard Force'

'I borrowed it to get on the drop ship. Someone has got to keep an eye on you.' Bellamy chuckles hugging his sister again

'Where's your wristband?' A girl with blonde hair spoke up. Caterina knew her as Clarke

'Do you mind? I haven't seen my brother in a year.' Octavia said turning to look at the blonde girl

'No one has a brother.' A male voice stated in the crowd

'That's Octavia Blake, the girl they found hidden under the floor.' Another girl says in the crowd. Octavia goes to run in their direction but gets held back by Bellamy

'Octavia, Octavia, No.' Bellamy continues to hold Octavia back then the two of them start whispering back and forth. Octavia then nods to Bellamy and he pulls the switch to open the door

Everyone stands there as the light hits their faces then begin to look around. Octavia takes a few steps before reaching the ground

'We're back bitches!' Octavia screams before everyone starts running out of the drop ship. Caterina gets pushed around in the crowd and ends up running into a boy
