There was a legend going around at Camp Camp. Every night on "The Blue Moon" , mermaids come out of the lake.
Tonight was actually The Blue Moon. Neil and Nikki were planning how they'd catch one, but Max obviously shamed their beliefs. He didn't believe in that shit. Then again, what does he believe in?
"Guys, that's a load of hooey." [AYYY SEE WHAT I DID THERE (;] "There's no way mermaids come from the lake. Mermaids don't even exist."
"It doesn't mean they don't exist, just because YOU don't believe!" Nikki argued.
"Yeah, Max, you've never even seen it!" Neil joined in.
"Exactly. There's no proof. THAT'S why the legend is fake." Max reasoned.
"Well, you'll be choking on your own words tonight, Max! Because we're gonna catch that mermaid!" Nikki exclaimed with hope in her eyes.
"Fine..." Max replied with annoyance.
~~Time Skip~~
It was finally night, and David had already checked on the campers. It was now time for Neil and Nikki to execute their plan. Along with Max, who was forced to come just so he could be proved wrong.
Neil and Nikki were walking over to the lake, Max dragging his feet behind them. They were close to the lake when they heard a splash in the water.
Nikki gasped. "THAT MIGHT BE ONE!" She exclaimed.
"Was probably just a fish." Max shrugged.
"A half-human fish" Nikki replied, winking.
Max grunted at Nikki's foolish beliefs. He couldn't believe her. Though it wasn't a surprise she believed in stuff like that, he just thought she could've been smarter.
They reached the lake, and sat on the pier. They waited for hours, and Max was fed up.
"Guys, there's NO mermaid. Let's just get back."
Max was just about to walk away until he heard an unfamiliar voice.
"You sure?" the voice said. He turned around to see what he thought was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.
It was a mermaid. An attractive one to him.
She had beautiful (H/c), (H/l) hair, sparkling (E/c) eyes, flawless (S/c) skin and a beautiful (F/c) tail.
"Hey, I'm (Y/n)." The mermaid greeted.
"I-I'm..M-Max..." Max stuttered. A tint of pink went up to his cheeks as he stared at the beautiful creature.
"Nice to meet ya, Max. So, what was that about there being no mermaids?"
"Um...I-I.." Max stuttered once again. He couldn't find any words and just hated the fact that he was wrong. Nikki was in the background cheering.
"Ah, it's okay." The mermaid sat up on the pier with her tail slightly splashing the water. Max sat down next to her, his cheeks becoming a light red.
"So, whatcha guys up to?" The creature asked.
"We we're just looking for more mermaids! Do you know any more?" Nikki asked in an excited tone.
"Yeah, they've heard of the little legend. They wanted to prove you guys wrong about it, but I decided to just come out." The creature replied.
