I'm straight... Or at least I'm 99% sure I am. There's something about Lauren that I'm attracted to. But the problem is I don't know what it is that's attracting me to her. I just met her. I haven't held a steady conversation with her yet. Hell, I don't know anything about her except that her name's Lauren Jauregui. I've never been in such a dilemma before but at the same time, why am I questioning myself? Like I just said, I'm straight and I can guarantee she is too. I mean, isn't her being at church enough proof that she's straight? It's against God's rules to be with someone of the same sex and she probably respects what God has to say being that she is inside God's sanctuary.

"So, Camila, how old are you?" Lauren said, interrupting my thoughts while we continued to walk up the stairs to go to our class.

"Turned 17 back in March. How about you?"

"Same, I'll be 18 here soon though."

"Oh." I simply said. God I wish I knew what to say but I truly can't think of anything to her.

"You're wanting to ask me questions. I can read it in your face." Lauren said to me.

Am I that readable?

"Um well yeah... Am I that readable?" I said my thoughts aloud at last.

She laughed. "No, I'm only kidding. But I figured you wanted to ask a ton of questions because that's the typical thing that you're supposed to do when a random stranger shows up somewhere."

Oh right. God Camila.

I laughed not only at her sarcasm but also at my sudden stupidity.

"I would ask you questions but," I said as we made it to the top of the stairs "we're here."

I'm kind of relieved that we finally got to class. It's not that I don't wanna talk to Lauren I mean she's pretty cool, but I just don't know what to say to her.

As we made it to the youth room we were greeted by our Youth Paster.

"Hello Camila. I see you've met Lauren already?" He said nodding his head towards Lauren.

I shook my head up and down. "Ran into her downstairs Mr. Jackson."

He smiled generously, "Well girls go ahead and have a seat, we were waiting for you two to make your way up here before we started."

I sat down in one of the chairs. Luckily, Lauren sat a couple seats away from me.

I opened my bible to the book of Luke with the rest of the class and listened to Mr. Jackson discuss the passage we've been studying. I tried so hard to listen to him but my head is somewhere else. I don't wanna be here. I don't understand why I'm here.

Once class ended I was the first one to leave the room and I headed straight to the bathroom. I looked at my phone and saw I have 5 minutes til the service starts. I groaned and left the bathroom. My family is probably looking for me anyways.

After service

I didn't see Lauren again after Sunday School. As soon as church let out me and my family went to McDonalds to grab lunch and then we went back home. I'm currently taking advantage of this summer weather and am sitting on my porch reading my favorite book The Fault In Our Stars.

Thankfully, it's managed to keep my mind off of what happened this morning.

As I was engaged into my reading there was a sudden shadow forming onto the pages of my book because of the lack of light. I assumed it was just my Mom standing there.

"Mami can you scoot over a bit? You're blocking my light."

The shadow didn't move. That's when I looked up and it turns out it wasn't my Mom standing there after all.
