It was getting kind of late when my conversation with Yusuke ended, so I offered to walk him to the station. He gladly accepted. There was a certain spark in his eyes and his heart, I just was too blind to see. Anything I may I have seen I convinced myself was a trick of the light. Yet that never stopped me.
As soon as we left Leblanc I began flirting with him, but he was too dense to notice--
"Excuse me, what?" Yusuke said, quickly looking up whatever it was he was working on in his sketchbook. I laughed. He looked genuinely confused and it was adorable. "You never realized it?" He shook his head. The little blonde little girl sitting in my lap giggled.
"Daddy silly!" She giggled. Yusuke made a serious face and pointed his pencil at her, "Now, Yuri, I assure you I am nothing of the sort." I looked down at my confused daughter and held her closer. She looked up at me with big innocent eyes. "You're father's right, he isn't silly . . . he's hilarious." I poked her cheek and she nearly fell onto the floor in a fit of giggles. Yusuke put his stuff own and wrapped an arm around me. He kissed my forehead and then Yuri's before smiling. "You are incredibly lucky that I love you both." I pecked his lips.
"I know."
This is my life. This is my family. These two are the two children I have to keep in check. These two are the reason I'm up all night, and barely get any sleep whatsoever. And I wouldn't trade it for anything this world has to offer.
