Chapter 24
There will be the use of alcohol near the end of this chapter. Sorry for the ending but I will try to update again tonight or tomorrow. xx
Louis' POV
I stood in line waiting to be served. Brittany who I had come to hate with all my being was sitting next to Harry in a booth across the quaint shop. They were in a deep discussion as I moved forward to the worker at the counter.
"What can I get you sir?" I told him the drinks that Harry, his girlfriend and I desired. The woman nodded her head and asked for the names, which I kindly gave. The elderly woman smiled kindly and told me to go sit down until she called the names. I walked over to the two of them and sat down on the empty side of the booth.
"When will they be ready?" Brittany asked, impatiently. I rolled my eyes, "When ever they're ready." There was something about Brittany that I just did not like; she seemed snobby and stuck up. The bell above the door rang, making my eyes advert to the door and away from the girl. My eyes followed a blonde girl and four boys walk up to the counter, laughing.
"I'll go find a booth." The shorter girl stated, disbanding from the group. That is when I realized who it was.
As I was walking over to her I saw Harry get up and grab the drinks from the worker. "Hey, Elle." She looked up from picking at the chipped nail polish on her tiny fingers and smiled, "Hi, what are you doing here?" I returned the smile, "Getting coffee with Harry and his annoying girlfriend." She rolled her eyes and glared at the other girl flirting aimlessly with Harry.
"I hate her so much, but I don't have the heart to tell Harry why." She sighed and the four boys walked over and smiled, "Harry told us to give you this." Luke handed me my drink and they joined the two of us.
Harry and Brittany got up and left, Harry still did not notice his own sister. The others and I saw the look of disappointment in Elles' eyes as he walked past us and through the door. We gave her sympathetic looks but she brushed it off, "Don't look at me like that, I am fine." They nodded slowly but I just sat there, seeing past her façade.
We talked more and laughed a lot. Elle wasn't including herself and I didn't know what to do, it was obvious there was something on her mind... Now that I think about it, the four guys are acting different too, they seemed more possessive about her. I decided to ignore it and continue the conversation Calum and were having.
"So how long have you and Elle been dating?" Calum asked, taking a sip of his warm drink. Elle looked up and smiled slightly, "Uh, we aren't dating yet." I smirked at Elle and she raised her eyebrows mockingly.
"Oh really?" The guys and I laughed at her reaction. She shook her head with a small smile, "Why am I friends with you guys?"
"Cuz you love us!" Her brother, Luke shouted pinching her cheeks. She pushed his hands away from her reddening cheeks, "Stop." She whined as he just laughed and checked his phone.
"I am sad to say little sis, but the boys and I must go to work." She pouted like a child and nodded, "You guys owe me more food later." They nodded and bid Elle and I goodbye, leaving us alone at the booth. We sat in silence, except for the other customers chattering away with their friends. I wanted to say something, anything but nothing came to mind.
It's not like the silence was awkward but it was making me uneasy. "Louis, why were you givin' me that weird look?" She asked, breaking the silence settled between us. I knew exactly what she was talking about but decided to act clueless, "What do mean? What look did I give you?" She gave me a hard stare.
"You know exactly what I am talking about," She spat. "You of all people should know I hate that." I sighed, "Well, I am truly sorry that you spent the night with four guys." She gasped, "You think I did something with one of them? All we did was talk, play video games and I borrowed clothes from Calum."
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah and you probably fucked him too." I let the words slip out my mouth and instantly regretted it, I guess this is what I get for getting barley any sleep last night. She stood up fast and grabbed her drink, "You know what? Why did I ever say yes to that date? And why did I give you another chance?" She glared at me before turning and walking away, leaving me with my thoughts.
Elles' POV
I walked out of the shop, not knowing where I was going. I could not go to Harry, or my brother... Ed, I can go to Ed. I threw the cup away and ran to the local bar, knowing Ed would be working there right now. I waltzed in there, throwing the door open causing a few of the guys and girls turn and face me. A few men eyed me up and down causing a shiver to run down my spine. I made my way through the crowd and up to where I knew he would be, "Ed!" I shouted over the pounding music.
He turned around and smiled, "Ellie-Bear!" He jumped over the counter, nearly knocking over a few drinks. He embraced me in a hug, "Long time no see, babe." I rolled my eyes. "Same to you too."
He laughed, "Need a drink?" I shrugged my shoulders and he led me to an empty bar stool and made me an alcoholic drink. I sipped at it haphazardly, it burned as it slipped down my throat making me cough slightly. "You okay there?" Ed asked, trying not to laugh at me.
"Yeah, just fine." I gulped the drink down quickly as he made more drinks for the other people. He came back over to me and said his shift was ending soon, I replied with, "I want more please!" He shook his head, his goofy smile on his face, "Right away, m'lady." I laughed and he brought over a tray with five shot glasses. I smiled, "Thanks."
