~Luke's P.O.V.~

"Well, I hate to break it to you, but Monika may not make it out alive."

After Dr. Schneider had told me this my jaw dropped. I felt myself go weak.

"We're trying our hardest Luke." Dr. Schneider said trying to make me feel better. He exited the room to run through more of the tests while Monika slept unconsciously.

I pulled my phone out and called one of Monika's best friends, Patrycja.

"Hello?" I heard her answer on the third ring.

"Hey Patrycja, this is Luke."

"Oh yeah I know." Patrycja laughed into the phone.

"Well, listen, I'm calling about Monika." I said slowly.

"What about Monika?" She asked cautiously.

"She's in the hospital."

I heard her gasp before saying, "Oh my god! What happened? Is she ok?"

"Come down here and I'll tell you everything."

"Ok, just let me grab my keys, I'll be there soon." Patrycja said quickly before hanging up.

I locked my phone before mumbling shit. I had forgotten to call Ashton. I called him as I kept on holding onto Monika's hand. The call went straight to voicemail and I heard a knock at the door.

"Mr. Hemmings will you please step out for a second?" I heard the Nurse Jackie ask as I stood up.

"Yeah, sure" I said as I walked over to the door and opened it.

"You have visitors." She said quickly.

I looked up to see a dusty blond curly haired guy, with a brown haired boy, and a bleach blond guy. All of them I recognized.

"Hey Ashton, Calum, and Michael." I said quietly. I let them in and shut the door behind me. "I called you." I continued saying to Ashton.

"Oh sorry, it must be on silent." Ashton said before entering the room.

I led them into the room, I walked by Monika and sat down. I looked up to see their face expressions.

"Oh my god." All three of them said in an upset tone.

I heard the door open to see a girl with blond hair walk in. Patrycja.

"Oh my god Monika!" She shouted as she ran up to her. I saw the tears forming into her eyes.

"Patrycja, these are my friends Ashton, Calum, and Michael." I said calmly introducing her to them. She said hi to all of them. "Please sit down and let me tell you the story." I signaled for them to sit down on the couch along the wall. Patrycja sat down by Michael.

I told them the story, at some parts they gasped, nodded, or put their head in their hands.

"I can't believe it." Patrycja said starting to tear up. Michael hugged her and gave her a tissue.

The door once again opened and I saw Monika's mom walk in hanging up the phone ending the call with her husband, Monika's dad, who was in Brazil at the time on a business trip.

I walked up and hugged Monika's mom and so did Patrycja.

"I thought you weren't coming in until tomorrow morning." I said wondering why she was here today.

"I got out of the traffic." She replied quickly. "Monika's dad is flying in tomorrow. He called his boss and it was fine with him."

I sat in my usual spot as everyone slowly started moving around the bed. I leaned my head lightly against Monika and dozed off. Still in my dreams I dreamt about all the horrible things that could happen.
