Role has been gone for an hour now and I have been constantly entertaining the kids meanwhile. As the time passes, I get to know my twins better.

Rain Merchant, the one in the jumpsuit loves to play outdoor sports but has a keen interest in sketching and colouring her books which is shared by her twin sister, Autumn Merchant.

Autumn loves her tea parties and drags Rain along to play house. She believes one day a nice prince charming like her dad, Role, will come on a shining  white horse and propose to her in the most profound way by bending on one knee and promising her endless tea parties.

Her stories brought tears to my eyes and Rain jumped in my lap to rub them off.

"Don't cry, mommy, we will take care of you. Dad said you're ill and we know you don't remember us... " an innocuous pout savaged her sanguine smile but I let her continue, "but... we can always make new memories. Dad said when we will grow up, we too will forget childhood memories. He said it is normal to forget from here..."
She pointed at my temples and Autumn barged in to complete her lines, "but we never forget from here." her small, color smudged hand placed itself on my heart.

I was in an awe so I hugged them both tight.

Then a maid enters the living area, interrupting our quality time with a grandeur meal on a bigger plate enough for at least four to five people to eat.

She quitely places the plate and the dishes meticulously on the dinning table.

"Mam, you may eat something now, you must be hungry, would you like something else to eat or drink?"

She bows and her dark hair is knotted in a nice bun bobs with her head. She wears a brown uniform with a clean white apron dressed over it.

There's a name plate pinned at her chest that says, Rebekka.

"No thanks, Rebekka, but yes please bring anything Rain and Autumn would like to drink."

The girls giggle and jump on the seats while dragging me along. I choose the seat in between those two and try pampering them both with red pasta, grilled bruchetta garlic bread, risotto, lasagna, apple and guava fruit chaat and many more dishes that I don't know the names of yet.

Soon enough, Rebekka reenters the room with glasses of orange juice for the girls and white wine for me. I didn't request it, though.

As I am engrossed trying to feed the girls, someone clears the throat nearby and my head dances ahead in the direction.

It's Role.

He changed his clothes and freshly showered. His dark hair are still wet at the end and water droplets are sneaking behind the color of his teal polo t shirt. His legs are adorned with grey checkered shorts that end up at his knee.

And as my eyes go on a quest towards his lower and feet, I observe and feel delighted inside to see him barefoot.

When he clears his throat again, I'd be terrible liar if I say I am not blushing.

He smirks clearly knowing that I was checking him out.

"I know you used to like white wine. I requested Rebekka that for you. Please try and tell me how is it."

"Sure..."

"So how's the bonding going on?"

He places the table cloth on his lap as he sits beside Rain and tickles her stomach because of which she laughs and ends up jumping on his lap and her tiny arms circle his neck and her small head rest in the nook of his neck.

The view is simply heart warming and my heart squeezes down a bit. The longing that start earlier has increased a notch. I want this family, my heart pleads and my brain commands. I feel jealous and thankful to be living this moment right now.

"Where did you go earlier?"

His eyes skip to mine instead of the meals or girls. A fire embellishes his blue eyes that makes their color darker.

His tongue licks his lips before words be courageous enough to spew out of his lascivious mouth with a perfect wide chin and sculpted high cheek bones.

"went for a cold shower, and changed clothes while taking some business calls. I suggest why don't you take a shower and change into something comfortable?"

"Yea, I was thinking the same."

"you were?"

His eyes zooms in on me and everything around me fades. "Yup," the breath that my lungs exhale comes out with almost a moan.

What's happening to me? I don't know why Role's existence has started to have gripping effect on me as it never did before while I was in the hospital.

After feeding the girls, and playing another tea party with them, this time with Role too, he guides me upstairs and we put the girls to bed for after noon nap and he then leads me to another room beside the previous one.

This one is bigger with twin circle bed in between and collages of us and the kids all around the walls. The walls are faded pink and white in color at one side while other side is a mix of blue and white.

There's a rocking chair and red ottoman sofa set at one corner while a big bookshelf is filled with romantic novels on other.

I completely adore the dressing of the room as I take off my sandals and place them behind the entrance door and feel the smooth white lush carpet beneath my foot.

"This looks so amazing, Role. The colors are soothing to the eyes."

His arms twinkle my skin pores as his hands touch my elbow and he faces me with amazement.

"What?"

"Nothing, you just never seemed interested in any furniture or the colors earlier. You surprised just now."

"I guess I am a bit changed?"

"Surely,"

"does that bother you?"

His eyes widen and he shakes his head with ease. "Na, why would it? I have loved you at your worst, love, we have argued and made up umpteenth time in the life-time of our relationship. In fact, I am liking your new version better,"

"aha?"

"not that I am complaining."

His hands shoot up in defeat which makes me laugh hard after a long time. And he keeps his eyes fixated on me as if he is seeing me for the first time. I guess he was genuine to his words. This does surprise him.
