                                   Fall 2015

When it comes to the life there always seems to be something that's wrong. Something that's just a tad bit off, and if it were eliminated, would make everything perfect in your world. Unfortunately for us, life isn't perfect. Not by a long shot. There's always going to be something messing up an otherwise flawless picture, and we just had to accept it for what it was. That's I thought at least, up until a month or so ago. As crazy as it seemed, (and trust, I didn't really believe it my damn self), but...everything in my life was...great. There weren't any hiccups in my finances, my family and friends were healthy and thriving, and my love life...well, that was the best part. Yep, in the words of the original Destiny's Child, better known as DC4, I was so good, so good, so good.

Ironically, I also happened to be listening to said song as I pulled into my regular parking spot outside of my apartment building, and paused it for the time being. Though I moved in some weeks ago, and the novelty should've worn off, I still found myself taking some time every now and then to simply admire the outside. The modern styled architecture of Cambridge Estates, with buildings covered in different shades of regal blues, and spectacular landscaping to match, served as a sign of my independence. While I'd lived in several different apartments since my initial departure to FLAU, this marked the first time I had a place with no college affiliation, and absolutely no financial assistance from my parents. It was all me...and a couple of others too, but that was neither here nor there.

Smiling brightly to myself, I turned off my ignition, and exited my car, strolling along the sidewalk, and turning the corner where my apartment door was a few feet away. I could feel my grin spreading, and my excitement growing the closer I got, so by the time I reached the entryway, my keys were practically fumbling in my hand. Calming myself down enough, so I could actually unlock the damn thing, I swung open the door, and stepped inside my foyer, closing it behind me quietly. Taking my backpack off my shoulder, I softly walked along the short hallway, until I reached the edge of the living room, where the sight there instantly sent me spiraling in a love tunnel.

Aaron, my lovely, caring, handsome as hell, Aaron, was sprawled out on our sofa in his typical basketball shorts and t-shirt combination, (though the shorts appeared to be a bit shorter than usual), with all his thick muscly goodness covering damn near every inch. It seemed like he was half-sleep, or just extremely relaxed, as his eyes were heavily lidded beneath his glasses, head resting comfortably on one arm rest, while his feet were crossed on top of the other. He didn't notice me at first, perhaps distracted by the episode of Teen Titans Go! he was watching, so I took the opportunity to gaze upon all his sexiness, knowing that it was all mine to handle whenever I pleased. And to think this all happened, because I was blessed with a great job that allowed me to move in with my boyfriend and my friend, just in the nick of time. Didn't I say life was good? I didn't get the chance to look that long though, as a casual adjustment of his body, which was accompanied by a glance upwards, revealed my presence to him. "Hey! How long were you just standing there?!"

Giggling, I shrugged my shoulders, and leaned against the wall. "Not that long. I just walked in about a minute ago." He grinned wildly, looking taken aback. "Really?! I didn't even hear you come in!" Noticing that I was still lingering by the edge of the room, his grin dwindled to a peculiar smile. "Why haven't you sat down yet?" He sat up, tugging down one of the legs of his shorts, and patted the space next to his thigh. "Come over here." Feeling like a little boy, I gleamed bashfully, but I didn't move an inch. Recognizing the game I was playing, he smirked deviously, leaning forward, and holding out his arms. "Ar-te-mis..." He purred out the syllables of my name, enticing me even more. "You know you want to sit down..." Carefully toeing off my oxfords, and neatly setting them aside, I started walking towards the sofa, smiling thoughtfully. "I suppose I can..."
