EVIL ISLANDS: CURSE OF THE LOST SOUL
Another game recommendation. This was one I first played back when it released worldwide in 2001. Made by a then-unknown Russian developer, EVIL ISLANDS was a mix of strategy and roleplaying game, set in a unique world best described as what we would call "StonePunk."
You play an amnesiac man named Zak who wakes up on a beach with no memory of how he got there. After killing your way to a village, you're greeted by the locals who refer to Zak as "the Chosen" because he's in possession of a metal knife in a world reliant on Stone Age technology.
EVIL ISLANDS allows you to do typical RPG stuff, like level up, get new skills and spells, buy new weapons and armour, and complete various quests.
While the graphics look like shit by today's standards, naturally, back in 2001 they were considered the shit, with some fairly advanced real-time shadows.
This is a lesser-known title, but well worth a play. You can find a digital copy on GOG for $5.99 USD.
