Chapter 6

Tyler’s POV

“Did you get everything?” Riley asked putting Brad in his car seat

“Yeah I think so.” I said checking the diaper bag

“Okay let’s go.” She said picking Brad up

“I’ll take him.” I said taking Brad

“Okay.” She replied taking the diaper bag

“Hey!” Marchand said when he opened the door

“Hey.” I replied carrying Brad

“Is he asleep?” he asked

“Yeah.” I replied

“Thank you for doing this.” Riley said

“It’s no problem. We love having Brad around.” Kelsey said

“Well you two have fun and we’ll see you in the morning.” Brad said basically said pushing us out the door

 “Okay.” Riley and I said as he slammed the door

“Why do I have a feeling that Brad wants to steal our son?” Riley asked

“Cause he probably does.” I said getting into the car “What do you want to do?” I asked starting the car

“Can we just stay home, please?”  Riley asked

“Why?” I asked

“I just want to stay home with you, like the way we were before we got married.” She replied

“Anything for you babe.” I replied and kissed her cheek

Riley’s POV

Sometime during the ride Tyler snaked his hand under mine. I couldn’t help but feel that this night would end wrong. Tyler got out of the car when we arrived at our house.

“You coming?” he asked

“Yeah I’ll be there in a minute.” I replied

I sat in the car for a few minutes. Just thinking about the last couple of years of my life. After I thought for a couple of minutes I got out of the car to find the door open and heard Tyler yelling at someone.

“Tyler!?” I yelled

“Will please get out of my house Suzy!” Tyler yelled

Who was Suzy? I thought

“I’m not leaving until your mine!” she yelled

I walked into the room to see Tyler have an angry look on his face and a slutty looking girl.

“Again I am married now. Off the market won’t be available ever again.” He replied

“Who are you?” I asked Suzy walking into the room

“You bitch!”She yelled lunging towards me

I dodged her and ran towards the phone. I dialed 911 and spoke to some officer.

 “Riley!” Tyler yelled wrapping me into his arms

“Who was she?” I asked

“What?” he asked

“Who was she?” I asked again

“An old one night stand the day before I asked you out.” He replied tightening his arms around me

“You slept with her before we went out!” I yelled ignoring the police sirens

“I honestly was feeling crappy from you turning me down. I thought she would make me feel better. At that time she looked like you and I was drunk. On the way to your apartment I realized that dealing with girls like that would just keep on hurting my chances of ever being with you.” He replied

I stayed silent I didn’t know what to say. I knew Tyler admitting this was something big and he was owning up to it. I mean we weren’t together at the time. Why does everything happen like this?

  “Babe please say something. I’ll call Caron and stay with him.” He said standing up

At this time the police had arrested Suzy and didn’t talk to Tyler or me.

“No we are going to talk this out. I at least deserve a better explanation.”I said crossing my arms

“What I told you was the truth. I’ve always wanted to be with you. I believe the reasons I did what I did was because I was getting you to talk to me. You are the only girl I have ever wanted. I know I was probably the worst at showing that but it is the truth you are the only girl I love.” He said pulling me into a hug

“Anything else you want to tell me?” I asked

“Well she came to a practice and somehow got back to the locker room to tell me the same thing she told me in the house.” He replied

“When?” I asked

“When Brad was born.” He said quietly

“Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked probably sounding shocked

“I was going to tell you but then you went into labor. At that moment you and Brad were more important than her showing up.” He replied

Alright now that was sweet him pushing his problems out of the way for the sake of me and our child. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. He responded to my hug with his arms wrapped his arms around my waist.

“Thank you.” I whispered in his ear

“I would do anything for you guys.” He replied 

“I love you.” I said

“I love you, too.” He replied

“Can we go inside now please? It’s really cold out here.” I said

“Yeah.” He replied picking my up bridal style

I woke up the next morning feeling happy but then all of last night’s ordeals good and bad came back. I checked my phone to see if I had a message and I had one from Kelsey.

Kelsey: Hey come over whenever u want I’m trying to pull the Brad’s apart

Me: I’ll see you later

One week later

Tyler’s POV

“Ugh I feel like I’m gunna throw up.” Riley said walking into the bathroom

Then I heard her throw up again and I ran into the bathroom to be with her and make sure she was alright.

“Babe are you alright?” I asked her

“Yeah I’m fine.” She replied walking out of the bathroom

“Well I think you’re not. You have been throwing up every morning for the last week.”I said

“Trust me Tyler I am fine.” She replied going into Brad’s room

“Do you think you’re pregnant again?” I asked

“I don’t know I could but I doubt it.” She replied picking Brad up

“Will you please check with a doctor or get a test?” I asked practically begging her

“I’ll check later. Now you can change Brad.” She said handing me Brad

I put Brad on the changing table and started talking to him like I always do.

“Hockey.” Brad said with a smile

“Yup.” I replied

“Fight.” He said giggling

“No fighting isn’t nice. You’ve spent way too much time with Uncle Milan.” I replied

“Dada.” Brad said now sticking his fingers in his mouth

“Finished.” I said finishing changing him

I walked out of his room to go find Riley

“Where’s Mommy?” I asked putting Brad on the floor
