Ch.35 Showdown with Clock-Ra

"Alright, Rae, you're up. Go ahead and meet up with Carmelita -- she should be here any minute."

"Got it. This shouldn't take long." She then got up and exited the Safe House, waiting for the officer.

Rae didn't have to wait for more than a few minutes as a chopper suddenly came into view from the distance, pulling up to the blimp, but hovered since it couldn't land. "Well, you sure took your sweet ass time, didn't you, Inspector?"

"Look, Rae, I don't have time to fight with you. I need an experienced tailgunner, so hop in and grab a gun; we've got a bird to take down."

Rae smirked. "Now there's something we can both agree on." She said before climbing in the chopper and taking control of the gun.

"The controls are pretty straight forward. Just aim and fire, but make sure you shoot out anything that comes our way, because this chopper can only take so much before we go down in flames."

"No need to remind me of the thousands of feet we are in the air and the impending doom if this fails..." Rae said as she aimed the gun, firing relentlessly at Clock-Ra, who gave a squeal in response. "Yeah, doesn't feel too good, does it, Mira?"

"Wait, Mira? I thought Neyla was behind this whole thing?"

"She was, but so was Mira. However, she killed off Neyla and took the Clockwerk frame for herself. Mira is clever, I'll give her that, even if she acts like a total airhead..." The thief explained as she continued firing the gun, taking out some missiles that Clock-Ra had fired off.

"Well, I wouldn't put it past me either..."

"Neither would I, especially since I know her. The most I can say is that she hates me and vise versa, so I've made it my mission to take her down ever since I found out she was in on this whole thing."

Suddenly, Clock-Ra dropped this strange, electric ring, Rae unfamiliar with what this thing was. "What the...? What is that thing?"

"Shoot the ring to open the electric field!" Carmelita blurted.

"Wait, what?!" She questioned.

Crash!

"Ahhhh!!" Both vixens gasped when the ring hit.

"I've seen these things before." Carmelita then said once she stabilized the chopper. "Although, when Sly dealt with them, he just had to fly through them, not shoot the rings to disable the electric field."

"This is Mira we're dealing with here, so I'm not inherently surprised that she would drop a bomb on us like that. And if that's the case, then I'll just have to shoot at those things too." She said, shooting at another ring that had dropped, opening the field as the chopper flew right through.

"So far, so good..." The Inspector sighed, but didn't let her guard down.

Whirrr...

"What...?" Rae raised an eyebrow when Clock-Ra's eyes started to light up. "Shit!"

"What now!?"

"She's gonna fire off a huge blast from the eyes! If that hits, it's not gonna be fun!" She said, trying to shoot at the face to disable the blast, but was a second too late as Clock-Ra got off her shot, nailing the chopper dead on.

Crash!

"Urgh!!" Both foxes gasped again, but when the chopper tilted, Rae lost her grip on the gun and started falling backwards, Carmelita gasping.
