So those of you who have read our previous story 'The Guy Next Room' we wanted to just say that we are re-writing it. Even though we are trying to improve our writing and plot the basic idea is pretty much the same.
If you didn't like our old story please give this one a try as we have really tried hard on this one.
But for those who HAVEN'T read the previous one... JUST READ ON AND ENJOY THE STORY
(You dont have to read the previous one to understand this one. We start from the very beginning and we won't be repeating anything so you won't get bored or annoyed.)

Prologue
Emily and I had been best friends since freshmen year of high school. We were the two 'awkward' teens with braces, 'disgusting' fizzy hair, big dorky glasses and nothing we could call a chest.
Since no one really talked to us and always tormented us, we decided to stick together and become friends. Ten months later, after finally hitting puberty and getting rid of the braces and dorky glasses , not to forget the huge amount of exercise during the summer a whole new look was born. By the starting of sophomore year, a fair amount of people knew who we were, but by the time our senior year arrived, we became pretty popular. People also stopped tormenting us. Being popular didn't make us the queen bee's or the cheerleaders; we were still the same people, just a little more sarcastic and bad ass (also helping out the other kids being bullied).
We became so close to each other that today I can refer to her as a sister. Despite this we look completely different. While I have blonde hair and blue eyes, Emily has fiery red hair and green eyes. I was small, petite and had that pixie look that made me look ‘cute’, as people say often. Emily however was tall and had a body any girl would die for.
Then after high school came college. That's where Emily met her boyfriend and future husband Brandon.
Now Brandon was a whole different story. He was exactly the type of guy Emily hated. A jock. It took the poor guy five months to convince her to go on a date with him.
And this leads us to the situation we are in now, two months after finally graduating university, having a celebratory dinner in mine and Emily's apartment with Sophie (Brandon sister), Mason ( Emily’s brother), Brandon, Emily and I, as Brandon had finally proposed to Emily the day before.
This was supposed to be a happy occasion but I wasn't able to decide whether I was happy or not after all Brandon was shifting into this apartment next week which would mean that I would have to shift out. But where would I go? I didn't have any family here and it would be really awkward if I lived with Brandon and Emily. There would be no privacy for me or them.
"So, have you found a place yet Serenity?" asked Brandon.
"Brandon! How rude!” Emily shouted while whacking him on his head with her hand. I knew very well that Brandon didn’t actually want me to move out so I didn’t mind him asking me that question. But Emily was the kind of person who would fight for her friend, whatever the reason was. And Brandon liked to take advantage of that and annoy her.
"Ow, what did I do?" Brandon said innocently.
"You know exactly what you did", Emily told him as if she was scolding a little kid. They were just so cute sometimes that I felt kind of jealous. I wasn’t in a relationship as I hadn’t found anyone decent. My previous relationship lasted for a year. But he broke my heart. His name was Tyler and I was completely in love with him. Even though it was a while back, I still miss him and can’t help but remember each and every moment I spent with him.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when Brandon said loudly, "Actually I don't. I was just asking Serenity a completely valid question and there is nothing wrong with that”
"You can't ask someone when they are going to move out of the house they already live in. Serenity can stay here as long as she wants. This is her house".
“I know that but I was just trying to make conversation. And I wasn’t asking her to move out or anything. I was just concerned about where Serenity would stay, now that she wants to move out.” Brandon raised his hands defensively, emphasis on the ‘she’.
“You have better meant that. “ Emily gave him that look that meant he was in deep shit. And let me tell you that look was not friendly. It was scary.
Brandon quietly looked down at his food and muttered a small ‘Sorry.’ He looked like a small child who was just scolded by his mother.
“Whipped.” Mason coughed out, making sure Emily didn’t hear him. But he wasn’t so lucky as Emily glared at him and asked,”What was that you just said?” She gave him the same look that she gave Brandon.
And just like Brandon, Mason also looked down and muttered something under his breath that sounded somewhat like an apology.
Feeling bad for the both of them I told Emily,”Hey just chill. They were just joking.”
And suddenly out of nowhere Sophie, who was silent until now, erupted into a hearty laugh. I gave her a confused look when she raised her phone and texted someone. Probably the person who caused her to laugh.
“Sophie, that’s enough. Get off your phone and join into the conversation.” Brandon told her.
“What are you guys even talking about?”
“We’re actually helping Ren find an apartment.” Brandon said.
“Oh really! My friend, the one I’ve been texting, has actually been looking for a person to live with.” Sophie said.
“Really?” I asked, excitedly.
“Yeah! Do want me to talk to the landlord for you?”
“That would be perfect!” I exclaimed.
I was thinking of renting an apartment, but it was turning out to be extremely expensive. If I share the rent with someone, it would reduce the cost by a lot.
“Acey would be really happy to hear this. I’ll give you the phone number of the landlord. He’s really sweet and his name’s Tom.” She said chirpily.
“Oh so your friend doesn’t own the place?”
“No. But Acey really needs someone to share the rent with. The apartment is a bit big and is in an expensive neighbourhood.”
Acey. Must be a nickname for Ace. Or maybe Casey. Or something like that. Sounds like the name of a nice person.
“That’s great. Now you can move out faster.” Said Mason, grinning at Brandon.
“Mason!” Emily glared at him. This time playfully, catching up with the joke.
Sophie suddenly jumped up and said,”Acey said it’d be great if you two stayed together. It’d be awesome!”
