Chapter Eight

Eight o'clock is quickly approaching, and I'm starting to feel the panic set it. My official first date with Connor is in an hour. I've been on a couple unofficial ones with him, yet I wasn't so nervous. I'm pretty sure we're going to an amusement park. Connor originally wanted to go to a fancy dinner at eight at night, but I said I'd rather do something fun and simple, and earlier in the day. I guess Connor thought of amusement parks when I said that, I'm really happy about going to the amusement park with him.

I heard the doorbell ring, indicating that Connor has arrived to take us to the amusement park. Unless it was some other guy. I doubt that would ever be the case. I quickly slipped on my flip flops and opened th door to find Connor standing on the other side. I smiled at the sight of him, and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.

"Morning, sunshine." he greeted me. It's refreshing to hear his voice. His voice literally sounds like angels to me. "You ready to go?"

"Yeah, lets go." I said, closing the door and walking towards Connor's car. Once we were both seated and buckled in, Connor began to drive to the amusement park. "So which one are we going to?" I asked him. I didn't know much about Santa Barbara, considering I only moved her five weeks ago. And four of those weeks have been spent with Connor.

"Six Flags Magic Mountain." he replied. "It's about an hour and a half away, so I made a playlist we could listen to on the way." Connor turned on the radio, and popped in the CD. The first song I heard was Hey Jealousy.

"Awww, our song!" I squealed, listening to the first few lines of the verse.

"I mean, why wouldn't it be on the playlist?" he said. "Three hours worth of songs on there, and I don't know much about your taste in music, besides the fact that you like Sugar Ray and the Gin Blossoms. So I kind of just added a bunch of songs from bands that were similar to them."

"Sounds good." I replied, right before Connor started to sing along to the chorus. I chimed in with him, giggling in between lines.

"Are we always going yo sing to this song whenever it comes in?" he laughed as the song played on.

"Always." I said. Connor and I continued to laugh together, even after our song stopped playing, and Fly by Sugar Ray started playing. I literally felt like Connor and I were a real couple, even though we technically aren't and this is our first official date.

An hour later, we arrived at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and I was taken back by the amount of people who actually go to an amusement park this early. I took Connor's hand. He's been looking through the map of the place for a few minutes now, trying to figure out what ride we should go to first.

"You know what?" he finally said after staring at the map for what seemed like forever. "Let's ride the Apocalypse. You're not afraid of heights are you?"

"Nope! I love them." I said. "But are you afraid of them, Connor?" I said, using a voice that you would use around a baby. Connor rolled his eyes at me.

"Nope, now let's head to the Apocalypse." he took my hand, and we began to walk towards the Apocalypse. Once we were in line, I could see that the ride was made out of wood, and there was a steep decline.

"I'll hold your hand when we go down the hill." I teased, Connor laughed.

"Very funny, Jaime." he said sarcastically. Suddenly, I heard someone calling my name.

"Jaime! Jaime Nebraska!" two girls called out, running over to me. Geez, how'd they know it was me?

That's when I realized I was out I'm public on my own time, not wearing a disguise. The fact that I've become so popular in the past five weeks didn't help either.
