"Niall! We're home!" Harry called as he walked into their home with the other lads. They'd decided to buy dinner, since they'd been out so long and Harry didn't feel like cooking. Harry was holding their dinner boxes in his hands, kicking the door closed as he couldn't use his hands. "We got Chinese!"

Harry waited for a few moments, listening for any sign that Niall was rustling around and gettin ready to come downstairs. He frowned when he heard nothing. He'd epected to see Niall scampering down the stairs to greet them all with a big smile, but there was nothing.

The other boys were pretty oblivious. Liam and Louis had begun putting the groceries away, and Zayn was just stood there, hands in his pockets. He didn't notice Niall's absence, either.

"Zayn, can you go get Niall? He's probably sleeping." Harry said, trying to convince himself that Niall was just asleep and he hadn't gone out without telling them or anything like that. He put the food down and grabbed a few groceries to help Louis and Liam.

"Sure." Zayn said. He pulled his hands out of his pockets and shuffled across the room. He turned on a few lights as he went upstairs so he could see where he was going.

It only took a minute or two to put the groceries away, thanks to Harry's help. Harry grabbed one of the boxes of Chinese and began eating, tapping his foot as he did, impatiently waiting for Zayn to come downstairs with a sleepy Niall.

"Guys?" Zayn called, coming downstairs and flicking off the lights he'd turned on. Harry shoved his fork in his box so he didn't have to hold it in his other hand, ready to hug Niall and hand him his own food, but Zayn didn't have Niall with him.

"What?" Liam asked, picking up a box and starting on his dinner as well. Zayn shuffled into the kitchen, frowning.

"I can't find Niall." Zayn said. Harry froze, a forkful of orange chicken halfway between the white box in his hand and his mouth. He can't find Niall? Where coud he have gone?

"What do you mean you can't find him?" Liam asked after a moment of silence, putting his box down. Harry was still frozen, trying to think if he'd gotten a call or a text from Niall saying he was going somewhere.

He hadn't.

"I-I looked everywhere and I can't find him." Zayn said, his voice a bit shaky, as if he were going to cry. Louis, who had been ruffling through some papers on the counter, gasped suddenly, a note turning up in his hand. His eyes scanned over it, panic filling his eyes with every word. He bit his lip.

"Someone get their phone and call Uncle Simon." He said. His voice was stiff and shaky, just like Zayn's. Harry looked over, a bit worried. (Okay, a bit was an understatement.)

Liam glanced over at him. "Wh-"

"Just do it!" Louis shouted impatiently, making the other boys cringe. Liam dug around his pockets for a moment, looking for his phone. When he finally found it he dialed Simon, still confused.

"Why Louis? What's wrong?" Harry asked, tilting his head in curiosity. He shoved his fork back into the white box in his hand and put it down. Louis didn't respond, he just stared at the piece of paper in his hand.

"I don't know." Liam said, talking to a confused Simon on the phone. He paused for a moment, then he said, "Here, let Louis explain."

Liam passed his phone to Louis, who grabbed it quickly and pressed it to his ear. His voice came out too quick, and Harry almost didn't catch half the words, "Uncle Simon, can you please come over here? We need help fast."

"Why? What's happened?" Simon asked. He'd been sitting in his office, watching the news on television. Getting a call from Liam was confusing enough, but now, with Louis on the phone, he was just baffled.

"Please just come over. Niall's . . . Niall's been kidnapped." He said. Simon nearly dropped the phone. The boys all froze for a moment. Zayn then collapsed and Liam started to cry. Harry would have dropped the box of food in his hand if he hadn't already put it down.

Louis hung up the phone and picked up Zayn, placing him on the couch. Harry dragged Liam over to where Zayn and Louis sat, holding Liam's hand tightly.

"W-well we can save Niall, r-right?" Harry stuttered, hope spilling out in his tone. He glanced at Liam then at Louis. He would have looked at Zayn for some reassurance too, if he wasn't unconcious. "H-he'll be fine . . . right?"

"Harry," Louis said, looking down at the piece of paper in his hands. He was still studying the words carefully, hoping he missed something or read something wrong. But he hadn't. "I don't think Niall's gonna be okay."

"What do you mean?" Harry demanded weakly, his heart dropping to his stomach. Louis passed Harry the note, who let go of Liam to grab it.

Hello One Direction boys. I hope you find this before the week's over. If you don't bring me ten million pounds by the end of this week, Horan will die, and that won't be the end of it. I'll keep kidnapping you, one by one, until I get what I want, or until all of you are dead.

Also, don't call the police. That would be a mistake, you know. I'll find out, one way or another, and I'll kill your precious blonde right in front of your eyes. Or their eyes, depending on how fast I find out.

One week for the money, or Horan dies.

Harry read it over and over, praying he'd read it wrong. After the seventh time, he gave up. He wasn't wrong. If the kidnapper didn't get ten million pounds by the end of the week, Niall would die.

"Read the back." Louis said. Harry flipped it over, this time reading it aloud, "At midnight tonight I'll be sending a text to Harry's phone with the address of where I am. I'm not gonna tell you where your precious blonde is, because then you'll try to steal him back, and I'm not gonna let that happen."

All of them, other than Zayn, who was still slumped, passed out, against the couch, looked at the clock hanging on the wall.
