"Daddy!!!" I hear our 5-year old daughter Elena yell through the house as she runs down the stairs.
"What's up baby?" Kendall says to her as he picks her up.
"There's a monster under my bed!" she shrieks.
I hear some noise from the living room and walk to it.
"What'cha doing sweetie?" I ask our other 5-year old; Ian, Elena's twin-brother, as I see him opening the toy box.
"I'm gonna save Elena from the monster!" he yells as he grabs his sword and runs across the hall, heading to the stairs.

"Wait a minute, buddy. What did I tell you about running while holding your sword?" Kendall says as he gets in front of the stairs, still holding our daughter.
Ian sighs, "No running while holding swords."
Kendall gives him a kiss on his temple, "That's right. Now you can quietly fight the monster, okay?"
Ian nods and walks upstairs.
I shake my head and follow him.
"Monster huh?" I say to Kendall as I walk by him.
He's looking guilty and is trying to hide it from me.
He shrugs, "I don't know. I did nothing."
"We'll see!" I say as I give him a kiss and walk upstairs.

I open Elena's bedroom door and see that Ian is attacking a hand that's trying to grab him from under the bed.
Huh? Whose hand is that?!
"Is he dead yet?" I ask as I walk to the bed.
"I think so. Can you take a look?" Ian nervously asks me.
I get down on my knees and look under the bed.
"I didn't even know you were already here! You seriously scared me!" I say as I see a familiar face under the bed.
Apparently Ian still doesn't know who it is (which concerns me a little, I mean; people under the bed and he doesn't even question it?!) and as soon as he figures it out he jumps up and down.
"Uncle Dustin!!! Did you see the monster under there? Is it gone?" Ian squeaks as he jumps into Dustin's arms.
He nods, "Yeah I totally beat it, no worries!"
I shake my head and the three of us walk downstairs.

Kendall chuckles when he sees my face.
"Sorry babe, but you know how Dustin likes to scare you a little." he says before he kisses me.
I nod, "I'll pay you back some other time! At least I know the babysitter is already here, so we can go to the restaurant right away."
We give the kids a hug and a kiss and head off.
