Today Is The Day...

It's now October 10, 2025, and Jimin and I are eating in a nearby cafe. "I want to make everything better, Namjoon", Says Jimin suddenly. "I just need the money to do it. I promise by the time my birthday comes around, everything will be perfect". I didn't understand what he was trying to say so all I did was ask. "Haha, well... How much do you need?" I asked, hoping he was joking. "I need $150,000" Said Jimin with a face I've never seen him make before. He looked extremely serious. So I just chuckled and handed him the money. I make a good amount since I'm an anchor on Channel 6 News.

He just sat staring at the money so I stood up and said I'd get us both a cup of coffee. "If you get up with that money without drinking any coffee or wishing me goodbeye. I will not forgive you" I said with a joking wink. I turned around to pay for the coffee, but by the time I could turn back around, he was gone with the money. I felt sad that he left again but all I could do was smile.

A few days later, it was Jimin's birthday and he hadn't arrived that entire day. I knew he didn't like birthday cakes so instead I bought Chinese take-out and ice cream. The whole day I waited in the living room and I kept the Chinese in the oven so that it wouldn't get cold really fast. No calls, no texts, and no doorbells.

I started to get worried but I tried not to pay much attention to it. Instead I put away everything and went to bed, hoping he'd show up before day break. But he didn't.

The first thing I did when I woke up was call the police to let them know somebody was missing and I grabbed my keys and shoes and went straight to the police department.

When I finally arrived, they told me that they found him dead on the side of the road with a candle and a match in his hand. They handed them to me in a secured bag that had his initials on it. They quickly knew that I was his brother and they offered for me to go see him at the hospital but I didn't. I did not want to see him laying in a deathbed so soon.

Instead I took his belongings and went straight home. I wanted to know what the candle and match were for. There were two matches in there so I used one to light the candle and went straight to sleep.

While I was asleep, I had a dream that I was laying in a bunch of snow and couldn't get up. I was so cold and couldn't open my eyes. All I could see was the sun's shine through my eye lids and I could feel every snowflake hitting my skin. My body began to quiver and I started to freeze still.

After, what felt like all night, I finally managed to wake up. But, when I did, I was soaked in water and my body was still freezing cold. There was nobody else in my house with me so nobody could have thrown water on me and the thermostat was set to 85°F so if somebody did throw water on me, it wouldn't be this cold. Not only that, when I looked at the clock it read 10:30. But I went to sleep at 10:00.

I was so confused as to what happened so I brushed it off and changed my clothes but I barely slept for the rest of the night. I took small naps every now and then and drank lots and lots of coffee to keep my brain stimulated.
