Chapter 2

Story not edited!! Sorry for any mistakes!

Again, I am completely redoing this chapter. I am making it a mission to make this story actually readable, and likeable.

P.S. I am trying to write this as if a 5 year old were talking, which is turning out to be quite challenging. So please do not comment on the way it is being portrayed. I promise once I start writing the chapters with her older, it will be better.

I hope you enjoy it.....

Chapter 2

Mommy and I make it home just in time to make Daddy some dinner. Mommy goes into the freezer and takes out some chicken and some broccoli. Then she goes into our pantry and pulls out some mashed potatoes. Yummy!

I watch mommy throw everything in the oven and begin making some desert.

Once everything is finished, she pulls all of the food out of the oven and we both set the table. She hands me the spoons and the plates to set around at our three chairs, while she handles the forks and the knives.

Just as mommy is placing the dinner dishes on the table,  daddy walks in through the front door.

"Daddy!" I squeal and launch myself at him.

"Hey pumpkin. How was your day today."

"It was awesome daddy! I met a new friend today, and mommy got a job!"

"Mommy got a job?"

"Yes dear. I was going to wait until we started dinner to tell you, but I guess Sophia was too excited to wait." She gives me her eye squint look....oops.

"Im sorry mommy."

"So what job did you get today dear?" Daddy asks.

"I will be teaching preschool at the school that Sophia was accepted to. The lady was impressed with how well I have taught Sophia, so she offered me $20 an hour."

"Hunny, that is wonderful!" Dad says, engulfing mommy and I in a big bear hug.

"Alright, alright. Food is getting cold you two. I have worked hard to give you both a nice, hot meal. So lets go sit down shall we?"

"Yes mommy." I say, grabbing daddys hand as we make our way to our seats.

Dinner went by without a problem...that is, until daddy brought out the drink.

The fighting started earlier than usual, so I ran upstairs to my bedroom and hid under the blankets. This was not like him to pick a fight while I was still awake.

The fighting went on for hours. I peaked my head out from under my blankets and looked at my bright green clock that sat next to my bed. The numbers blinked 11:27. I am going to be so tired tomorrow.

I lay my head down on my pillow and close my eyes, trying to block out their arguing. It has gotten quieter now. They must have either gone into the bedroom, or went outside. Either way, I am finally able to fall asleep.

***

"Sophia, time to get up sweet pea. It is the first day of school." I wake up to my mommys soothing voice.

"Five more minutes mommy."

"No Sophia, you need to get up now. If I let you sleep any longer you will be late. Now come on! Chop chop! You need to take a shower, get dressed, and let me do your hair in a pretty bun."
