Hey! My name is Dennis Bradford and I go to Goode High School. My two best friends, my only friends, are Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase.

Percy Jackson, he has black, always messy, hair and sea-green eyes that will be mesmerising or stormy. He's the captain of the swim team and has gotten so many college scholarships for swimming. He's what the girls and gay guys call hot. Yeah, perfect body as they say.

Annabeth Chase, she has curly blonde hair and super cool grey eyes that seems to scan everything. It's like they're taking note of you and how you act because they're always jumping around. She's the smartest person I've ever met, she's the captain of the Academic Team and the Science Bowl Team. Annabeth got scholarships from pretty much every college and university.Annabeth also plays soccer (football for you non-American people) and she's one of the best I've ever seen. She is the definition of hot, I mean, both of my friends are.

They have natural tanned skin and pearly white smiles.

Then there's me. Dennis Bradford, plain brown hair and poop green eyes. Yeah, I'm tall and I'm on the basketball team but Coach never picks me to play in games. And my hope for getting Annabeth to be my girlfriend is hopeless.

Whenever someone asks her out, she always say no. She never said why, just that she wasn't interested. I mean, she never said she was taken so maybe I do have a chance. Sometimes the ass-hole boys pushed too hard and she would judo-flip them and Percy would laugh.

Percy and Annabeth seemed like they've been best friends for forever.

Whenever someone asks Percy out, he would awkwardly say that he has a girlfriend but no one believes him.

"Hey man, you okay?"

I looked up, I was zoned out.

"Huh? Yeah, I'm alright," I answered.

"Okay, cause class is over," Percy told me.

I grinned at him and thanked him. We separated ways to our locker, then would be meeting again for science.

I went to my locker, which was surrounded by people who took forever. I finally got my stuff for science and quickly went to Mrs Hudson's room. She was a really nice person and didn't really mind us whispering quietly. She said it's our fault if we don't want to pay attention and fail the test, it's fair I guess.

"Hey man, finally here," Percy said as he sat in the seat beside me.

"Yeah, about to be late huh"

"Yeah"

There was something I was going to do this afternoon and I wanted to tell Percy.

"Hey, I'm finally going to ask out my crush," I whispered to Percy during class.

His head jerked to face me.

"Really? Who?"

"It's a surprise, you'll have to find out after class," I grinned. This is the last class of the day and I can't wait to ask out Annabeth.

"Dude, tell me," Percy begged.

"Nope, you'll have to wait," I said and gave him a shit eating grin.

Class was quite boring since we learned about vacuoles and other things in cells.

It was finally after school and my hand were really sweaty. I got out of school, holding my trumpet case in my arm. There was a crowd of people cheering, so I pushed inside, trying to see what was going on.

I finally pushed to the front and I was heartbroken.

Percy and Annabeth were having a make-out session. After about thirty seconds, they pulled apart.

"What the hell Percy?" I said, after the noise lowered.

He made a confused face. "What do you mean?"

"I was going to ask her out! Of course, Percy Jackson. The boy with fame all around the school and could choose and girl to be his hot date and he chooses my crush," I spat out, completely forgetting that they helped me a lot.

"Dude, you never told me Annabeth was your crush. Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you," Percy put his hands up like he was giving up.

"I thought we were friends," I said quietly and ran away, forgetting my trumpet and backpack.

I heard Percy say, "Dude wait!" because hearing footsteps.

I hid behind a big oak tree and began to climb it. I started crying.

"Of course I would have absolutely no chance with Annabeth," I muttered to myself.

"Denny? Where are you?" I heard Percy shouted from below.

I stayed silent.

"Denny? Are you up the tree?"

Shit, Percy knew I could climb well. I heard leaves ruffling, the sign of Percy coming up the tree.

I stayed silent and didn't move.

"Denny?" Percy's voice was closer now.

"What do you want," I glared at him as he came in view.

"I only came to say sorry. If I knew that you had a crush on Annabeth, I wouldn't have made-out with her."

I scoffed.

"I'm serious. I'm sorry. And Annabeth and I are moving to Cali tomorrow. Bye, I guess," Percy said, sounding very sincere.

"Whatever," I spat.

I heard Percy leave and I stayed there for a minute and went down.

The next day I came to school and the couple weren't there. They weren't there the following days either. I slowly started to realised that Percy actually wasn't lying.

They had moved to California and I'm still here, broken and empty. No friends, no soulmates.

"I'm sorry Percy," I whispered. "I'm sorry for getting mad at you for a really stupid reason. I wasn't focusing. My jealousy took over."

I then remembered that Percy's parent might still be in New York. And that Mr Blofis was still at school.

I approached Mr Blofis the next day.

"Hey Dennis, how can I help you? Do you need help with grammar? Punctuation?"

I looked down at my feet. "Actually, Percy and I had a bit of an argument a week ago. The day before he left for California. I realised my mistake. I was mad at him and I never got to say goodbye. I was thinking that maybe I could ask for your help to reach Percy? One last time."

Mr Blofis thought about it for a moment. "Sure, I'll help you. Here's his phone number. He doesn't hold grudges unless you completely ruined his life, so feel free to call him."

I smiled at him. "Thank you so much sir."

He smiled back and went to his room.

I stared at the number and finally decided to call it.

It rang two times before Percy picked up.

"Hello? Who is this?" he asked.

"Hey Percy. This is Dennis Bradford, I'm sorry. I asked Mr Blofis for any way to contact you and he gave me your number. I'm really sorry about that. My jealously took over. Forgive me Percy, please?"

"Hey Denny! Apology accepted! Don't worry about it. I don't hold grudges."

"Oh thank you!"

Then Percy and I continued to have a one hour conversation before he had to go.

I'm not broken anymore I thought.
