----------------------------------------------------

An asian boy came to Katherine and hugged her as if they were lovers, separated by war. The old man, dressed as magician was later known as Mr. Roberts, the head master of Southern Sanctuary. There were around 7 of them today. The 3 other boys were left, because they were not of the right age, yet.

I am not focused on anyone, apart from the boy that Stephanie hugs. Maybe he is her mate. But the boy is not looking at her. In fact, he is not talking to her that much. He is staring at Mrs. Reem. While Mrs. Reem has a disapproving look on her face.

Were they secret lovers?

I quickly dismissed the idea. Mrs. Reem looked like a mother, giving the boy a disapproving look. The boy sighed and stared at me. He has a neck-length black hair and blue eyes. His eyes were framed by thick and long eye lashes. His nose is okay but his lips are very red, a beautiful contrast to his brown skin. The boy is so...handsome. As Stephanie says. Goodness! Now I sound like Stephanie!

The boy, that I later known as Carter Blaine, quite reminds me of someone that is burried in my memory a long ago. I tilted my head to the side while my eyebrows met together in confusion. I have a nagging feeling that I should know him, that I know him...but I really can't remember him. His smile, yes. The way he smile reminds me of something, or someone that was burned at the back of my memory...

“Miss Caznek.” Mrs. Reem called me.

Later on, she led me to her office. I found my self seated on the chair in front of her magnificent mahogany table. And she is seating on her swivel chair, half facing me. She stares at the vast land of snow from the window that is placed behind her. It is around 13:15 today.

The room has a dome-shaped roof. The room itself was circular, and the walls are covered in books, placed on dark shelves. A typical room for witches¹. The desk is clean. No other items can be found on it, aside from our teas.

“What’s the matter, Mrs. Reem?”

She took a sip of her tea before saying, “I am very sorry about Mr. Blaine.” She said, while there's a pure sadness in her eyes.

Dear reader, if you thought I have shown any hint of surprise when Mrs. Reem said that (even though I really am.), you are wrong. I am very curious as you are regarding Carter Blaine. I have told you before, Mrs. Reem wants me to get my memories back by my own. And if she thinks I recognize Carter Blaine, so let it be.

“He can be a playboy sometimes, specially when he was in his youth. But I honestly thought he changed, 14 years ago, when he brought you here.” I kept a neutral expression and did not say anything. “I think it's time I tell you.” She leaned forward.

“Carter Blaine is your mate. That's why he saved you from your burning clan house, 15 years ago. What I don't understand is why he is being affectionate with Miss Stephanie. But...”

I did not hear the rest of Mrs. Reem's explanation as my mind caught a very shocking revelation.

Wait...my Clan house? Carter Blaine burned my Clan house?! Why?!

Isn't he the one who taught me how to write? The nice guy?

Or, is he?

“Mrs. Reem...” I cut her off. The issue with burned clan house forgotten — for now.
