That day for the Thorns was tragic. They didn't get to say a proper goodbye to their daughter. Mr. Star had warned them that it wouldn't be the last time they would see each other. For Astoria, that would have been the last time she would see them. She didn't know what their fate was, but Mr. Star did know. Their last moment on Earth would be the cause of his own power. In the future, Astoria would be able to see one of her siblings again, but not at this age or time.
Due to her fighting, Mr. Star carried her out to his car and put her safely in the back seat. She was in a deep sleep, so she wouldn't know where he was taking her. Although most in the world were aware of the Civitas Amissa. A part of him was hoping that his sisters were waiting for him in the living room, that way Astoria could see that there was hope for her.
Ashton used his magic so they would appear in the city faster. He did enjoy his long drives, but he wanted Astoria back at the Castle sooner. He drove up to his castle and parked his car in the rather large garage filled with other cars. He opened his door and got out to bring the young girl inside. She was light as a doll and easy to carry due to her size and age. He was caring enough to lightly pick her up and he carried her inside. His sisters were inside but didn't have a smile on their faces. The older sister, Talia, did not look pleased with the new girl in her home. Sabrina on the other hand looked excited to see a possible new friend.
"What is this?" Talia's voice echoed off the walls.
"A debt that has been paid." Their brother walked over to the red couch and laid Astoria down.
"You and your debts! Do you realize how annoying that is? Why can't you follow in my steps and just kill them?" Talia yelled at her brother.
"Where's the fun in that? Killing those who are in debt to us? How about we just let them suffer instead?" Sabrina said as she ran her fingers through the sleeping redhead's hair.
"I can't help but notice that our new friend here looks like someone we all know," Talia smirked as she sat on a white chair, drinking red wine. "Or once knew."
"They have the same story, don't they?" Sabrina asked. "Or am I thinking of someone else? Are referring to Chloe or Victorya?"
"Leave that backstabbing bitch out of this!" He had yelled which caused Sabrina to jump practically out of her spot."Oh, Chloe, got it." She realized.
Talia laughed at her brother's anger, mocking him. This made his rage grow by the second. She stood up and made her way towards the kitchen with her high heels clicking against the black wooden floors. Sabrina was keeping an eye on Astoria as she watched her brother pace back and forth in front of her, trying to calm down.
"How about we wake her up? You know that the longer that sleeping spell is on her, the more confused she'll be as she wakes up." Sabrina suggested.
"I know how the damn spell works." He had snapped his fingers. "I invited it myself!"
Astoria's green eyes had opened, and she looked around unsure of her surroundings. She started squirming around and Sabrina gently grabbed ahold of her wrists to keep the girl from hitting her. Astoria used her legs to kick the platinum blonde and got away from her. She was in such a panic that she didn't see Ashton and bumped into him. He grabbed her and kept her still. He snapped his fingers again, causing her to go limp in his arms.
"I see she's a fighter. This will be interesting." Talia entered the room without a wine glass in her hand this time. "Well, I am going to bed, so keep the new brat quiet. I'd like to get a full night of sleep."
"Shut up, Talia. This is exactly what happened with your last boy toy." Sabrina laughed.
"How about you idiots just use your magic to get the brat in her forever prison?" Talia questioned.
"Oh wow, our dear sister is right for once." Ashton snickered.
The next morning, Astoria's sleeping spell was undone. It wasn't Mr. Star who had undone the spell, it was his young sister Sabrina. She stayed by the girl all night in case the spell had worn off on its own. From past mistakes, the family learned that some people are strong enough for a spell to not fully work. Those created from half-demon magic always carried a magical gene in their body.
Sabrina grew tired and fell asleep as she was cuddled up in a nearby chair. Astoria was slowly waking up and she was trying to see her surroundings. She let out a small cry because of how confused she was. Sabrina heard the sound and her eyes immediately focused on the ginger. She quickly moved out of the chair and sat on the bed.
"Easy, easy, you're okay." The blonde said trying to calm her.
"Where's my mom or my brother?" Astoria asked with tears forming in her eyes. "My sister?"
"You don't remember anything from last night?" Sabrina wondered.
"No!" The girl yelled.
"Oh, that's just wonderful. Okay, um, first you should go take a bath or shower. This is your home now, so help yourself to things." The blonde said. "What's mine is yours, everything is yours."
"Why are you being so nice to me?" The girl wondered.
"Someone has to, It wouldn't seem fair to treat you so cruel when you'll be here for the rest of your life." Sabrina smiled at her new friend.
