josh is mainly a stage actor, best known for playing ernst in deaf west's spring awakening. the second and fourth GIFs above are from clips of spring awakening, but he's guest starred in switched at birth and had roles in short films created by another broadway actor, andrew keenan-bolger

☆what fandom do you think will be best suited for face claim;

obviously, josh is deaf (well, technically hard of hearing, but he's fluent in american sign language, doesn't talk when he doesn't need to, and consistently plays deaf characters), so he'd be perfect for any deaf or hard of hearing character. he's also gay and plays mostly gay characters (to my knowledge), so it'd be best if his character is attracted to men, whether they're gay or bi or poly or pan, you know the drill, because queer erasure is gross and you don't want to do that. since he's so young, i'd suggest he could be in any book involving teenagers. as for fandoms, glee would work because he does theatre stuff. i'd also suggest riverdale as well because its main focus are the teenage characters. he could also fit in any other type of fictional works, especially if they deal with theatre in any way.

NOTE;
probably the main reason i decided to write a chapter of this book suggesting josh as a faceclaim is because i was hoping to inspire people to include more disabled characters in their writing. even in mainstream culture, disabled characters and actors are few and far between. an extremely large group of people go unrepresented in everything from books to movies to tv shows. i really hope more people will try to write more disabled characters, especially without resorting to stereotypes and ableist ideals. here's a link to a really great article that includes many different links to different resources that will help you write disabled characters in the correct way:

also, i wanted to make a chapter of this with josh castille because he's the purest human being ever and i love him so much :')
