Even though I was yawning and dragging my feet, I was still smiling on my walk to math class. I couldn't help it, after all my boyfriend Ben and my best friend Ally had both been busy all weekend. So I had spent the time cleaning and cooking because my dad had been away on a business trip for the past month, my mom was only gone for a week but still they were coming home tonight so I had cleaned like a mad man all weekend. But both Ally and Ben would be here today and my parents would be home tonight so hopefully my luck was about to turn around. And after picking a seat towards the back of the class I pulled out my phone and texted Ben

'hey where are you? you aren't planning on ditching me in math are you?' I texted and in a few minutes I got a reply

'no.' was all he said. so shrugging it off I pulled out my supplies from my bag just as the classroom door swung open. The math teacher sighed. A group of giggling girls surrounding a boy walked in. The boy was Jake Anderson. I didn't know much about him just that he had a bad boy player reputation. The exact kind of boy Quinn Davis was sure was not her type. I liked the shy and sweet guys, the ones who would never cheat. The ones like Ben. The door swung open again this time making the math teacher growl. yes, he growled. Ben walked in and sat down on my left. I smiled at him. he half heartedly smiled back. the door opened again. the teacher whipped down the chalk abandoning whatever he was writing on the board so he could walk to the door, slam, and lock it. Just after Ally had rushed in and sat down in the chair on my right.

"hey Ally" I whispered to her

"hi." was all that came out of her mouth and seemed like what was all that was gonna come out of her mouth. my smile started slipping away. not completely, but it had started.

after a few more painful periods lunch finally arrived. Assuming it would be better then the morning my smile had began to heal itself as it grew bigger by the minute. I arrived at my usual corner lunch table where Ben, ally, and a few other friends of ours were already eating and chatting.

"hey guys" I said while taking a seat next to Ben and giving him a quick peck on the lips.

"hi" said Ally

"whats up?" asked Ben

"nothing much, unless you count almost falling asleep in pretty much all your classes something" I said biting my apple. Ben smirked while Ally nodded in agreement as she and I had almost every single boring class together.

"I hear ya, oh i hear ya" Ally mumbled. That was pretty much the highlight of my day.

when I got home I was surprised to smell my moms special soup smell wafting threw the house. Grinning, I ran in and hugged my mom from behind.

"MOM! you weren't supposed to be back till later tonight!" I said and watched my mom raise her eyebrows.

"not that I'm not happy to see you" I added quickly "its just I'm surprised! I missed you so much! Wheres dad?"

"whoa, slow down sweetie" my mom laughed "I missed you to. Your dads out back putting together the new barbecue" she said that before she kissed my head then let me go run and hug my dad.

"daddy!" I yelled as I hugged him. I hadn't called my dad 'daddy' in years but I also hadn't been separated from him for a month before.

"hey darling!" he said as he kissed my head "missed me?" he asked

"of course! why wouldn't i? the house has been a silent boring hell zone since mom left and I was completely alone" I said remembering those boring days.
