RIIIIIIIIIIIING RIIIIIIIIIIIING, the phone went off as I called one of my best friends, Lindy.
Lindy, my blonde, blue-eyed friend who just can't fail to make me laugh.
And speaking of best friends, I should probably introduce you to Lindy's absolute opposite: Cheryl, the dark-haired, also blue-eyed girl who is best known for her bangs.
"Sup, buttercup," she said after answering my call.
"I thought that intro died about 20 years ago."
"Shut up," she said. "Anyway, why'd you call?"
"I'm bored. Nothing's good on Tumblr and no new YouTube uploa---"
Before I got to finish, my doorbell rang.
"Bye Lin, somebody's at the door," I said to Lindy in a hurry. I then exited my room, ran down the stairs, and opened my door.
"Hi," says a man I've never seen before. He was formally dressed in his black suit and black tie. "Are you Ms. Alicia Watson?"
I was still confused. "Uhh, yeah. And you are?"
"I'm Garret, and I am here to bring you for your ride to the SyCo headquarters to see Mr. Hal."
Oh, that's right, I might've forgotten to mention this: I sent in a demo of some of my songs to SyCo Records, only one of the biggest recording companies ever, in the hopes of getting a record deal.
I know, I know, it's a one in a million chances if I get signed but hey, I gotta try, don't I?
"Oh, alright, I'll get dressed and come back down in just a minute."

I didn't know what I was doing into when I finally was sat on the chair. The chair. The chair where a lot of stars have probably sat on before. Yes, it is the chair across Hal's desk in his office.
"Would you fancy some tea, Ms. Watson?" asks Hal. Oh my god. He just asked if I wanted tea. I would love tea!
But I'd rather not have it. Another opening of embarrassment is probably drinking tea and spilling it all over myself. Bye bye, record deal.
Am I being paranoid? No, I'm not. Just kidding, oh yes, I am.
We chatted for a little bit, he asked me about what I do for a living and my hobbies and my goals and etc. But we both knew the one thing I was waiting to talk about: do I get the deal, or do I not? 20 minutes and a cup of coffee later, he gave me a letter. I open the letter hurriedly without even saying a word.
About 10 topics later, including one about my favorite pet and what I think about dogs, we actually got there.
"So you must be wondering about what we think about your demo," he said, smirking as if he was dragging the conversation on just to get me on the edge of my seat.
I wanted to scream, YES YES YES from the top of my lungs, but I'm afraid that someone else could hear me (and I'll look quite crazy). Instead, I just nodded my head.
Hal went on with grabbing a giant brown envelope and taking out a piece of paper. "Read this first," he requested. And so I did.
Dear Ms. Watson,
We are huge fans of your YouTube channel. Hal here always asks for our help when choosing new artists to sign, and to see you on the list made us quite excited. Hal must sign you, after all our begging (haha). If so, we hope to meet you soon!
Harry, Louis, Liam, Niall, and Zayn. XO
Undeniably smiling, I looked up from the letter to see Hal also smiling with some papers on his desk and a pen in his hand, which he stretched out to me. "Welcome to the SyCo family, Ms. Alicia Watson."

Hal had better signed Alicia. I know he met her today, and I swear, I bet I'm more nervous than she probably is.
Yes, I may or may have not seen all her YouTube videos, and yes, I may or may not have bugged Hal 182937839701 times just to let him sign her after seeing her name on her CD demo packet.
And so I called him to know his final decision.
"Harry!" he said as he answered.
"Hey Hal, how'd it go?"
"Alicia...is officially signed to SyCo Records."
