Ryan sat on a black moleskin couch, drinking a steaming cup of coffee, in dressed in clothes that weren't his.
He stared at the TV, the noises muffled to him he was so lost in thought.
"You alright Ryan?"
Ryan's head snapped up to look at Jake. He gave a small smile and nodded.
"Yeah just, surprised about myself." Ryan admits.
Jake sits next to Ryan, and looks to him.
"About?"
Ryan sighs. "everything. Being here, and it's not awkward at all, and me being gay and...all that."
Jake nods and sips his coffee, wincing slightly from the heat of the drink.
"Well I mean it's just your first time though you could probably be bi-"
Ryan shakes his head.
"No. I haven't dated girls in a year. I never tried because sometimes it just didn't feel right. Last night felt," Ryan breathed out a nervous laugh. "It felt right. More right than anything I've done." His false smile fades and he looks down at his feet.
Everything is happening so fast. Why? What is he going to do after this? Will him and Jake continue? Or will it just be a fuck buddy thing? Or will it just a be one night stand?
Jake leans back in the couch. "I'm glad that you're so sure. Figuring out this much should take some stress off your shoulders right?"
Ryan shrugs. He pulls out his phone and checks his notifications. There were a bunch of texts from the group he went with last night, but then he sees a couple free Shane. He unlocks his phone and opens Shane's messages.S- how'd everything go? Do you need a ride home? Figure anything out?
Ryan sighs and starts to text Shane.
R- can you meet me at Tim Hortons?
Then Ryan shut off his phone. He looked over to Jake.
"What's happening after this?" Ryan asked reluctantly.
Jake turns to him. "what do you mean?"
"Like....are we ever going to talk again after this?"
Jake raises his eyebrows then they slowly go down and he turns his head to the TV. "I mean...I don't usually do relationships. They aren't my thing. But I mean I'm willing to help you find someone."
Ryan shakes his head. "no no, it's fine. I'll make myself a grindr profile." He jokes, but not entirely.
Jake scoffs. "yeah...I don't know but last night was great, considering that was your first time."
Ryan's face heats up, like when you sit too close to a fire.
"T-thanks," he mumbles.
He finishes his cup of coffee and goes to the bedroom to go get dressed. He finds his clothes folded neatly in a pile at the edge of Jake's bed, not smelling of sweat and alcohol, and smelling of a flowery laundry detergent. He changes and looks at himself in the dresser mirror, and finds a small zit on the right side of his nose. He groans softly and then slides on his combat boots and ties them tight.
He spritzes on some of Jake's cologne and steps out, and finds his jean jacket on a coat rack.
"Thanks for letting me come over and stuff." Ryan says, nerve prickling his skin. Everything felt suddenly awkward.
Jake nods and gives him a wave.
Ryan. Turns and opens the door, and exits Jake's apartment with a huff. He made his way down the steps to the main entrance, a sharp pain shooting up his back.
•"Well I didn't know things could happen so fast for you." Shane says with surprise.
Ryan rolls his eyes. He shoved a cream cheese bagel in his mouth and chewed and swallowed hard.
"Yeah, me either."
"So you some kind of twink looking for a daddy on Grindr now?" Shane teases, a smirk twisting his lips.
Ryan's brows furrow and he shoves Shane from across the table.
"Fuck off!" He says defensively.
A laugh sparks from Shane and Ryan's face was beat red. Eventually Ryan couldn't help but laugh with Shane.
They finished their snack and put the trays back and they walked out together.
"I just don't know what to do next? If that makes any sense."
"Experiment with yourself. Figure out what you like and what you want." Shane says, unlocking his car door and they enter in.
Ryan gazed at Shane. He took notice of his soft, round features. His stubble. The way his hair flipped out his beanie slightly. The huff as he plopped into the driver's seat.
Ryan sighed, and he sat in the passengers seat.
"Now we have to spend time editing that whole damn episode. And I have to voice over our experience. Ugh." Ryan says, to get his mind off what he was thinking before.
"I can come over tonight. I'll edit while you voice over." Shane offers.
Will this guy ever cut Ryan a break? He's just so nice, and helpful.
Ryan stuttered out a "sure," and buckled himself up, and off to Ryan's house they go.
