I don't own Toms and am not associated with the company in any way.
As a matter of fact, I did stay home sick, so enjoy the long chapter.
SHROOT GET A WATTPAD.
And no Benedict didn't touch Nora's butt to give her his number.
Hold on chugging my pills.
OKAY HERE WE GO
Also, for background info, Becca is Asian. I think she's the fictional version of me. Her full name is Rebecca He. She doesn't have a middle name. Nora has an Irish mother, but American father. Benedict is English, but he doesn't have an accent. Thought you might want to know this stuff. Besides Becca, none of them are first or second generation immigrants, their family lines have lived here for a while. Becca's parents both moved here from China for college.
So:
Benedict Talbot
Nora Taptiklis Anderson
Rebecca He(she has a Chinese name but that's not important...)
UPDate: oops I TOOK A NAP SORRY IT'S GOING UP LATE also if you don't like description skip the second paragraph sorry idk why I wrote that but I'm too lazy to rewrite atm

It's the Fourth of July. The day before, my dad had come home. We had gone shopping for things for our annual barbeque party. Now, normally, only Becca's family came to these things, but this year everyone agreed that Benedict and his family should come too.
My mom and I had gotten bored of looking at blocks of raw meat, so we decided to go to a few different places and look at girl stuff, like makeup and clothes. I figure Becca has red, white, and blue liners already, so I can borrow those, but I buy some red lipstick and rosy red blush to share with my mother. I have a bandana that is the American flag, and I wear that in my crazy curly hair every year. I also include some red and white striped wedge espadrilles, a white eyelet midi skirt, and a graphic cropped tee that has the flag printed on it. All of these things are from home. Nothing's wrong with dressing up a little, right? My mom chooses white cropped jeans, and a red and white striped polo she already owns. She pairs this with navy blue Toms, which she finds in a store we happen to walk by. In the area of California where we live, fireworks aren't permitted, but we go to a party store and buy sparkler candles to put on the cake we make. We return to Dad, where he's now looking for one particular spice. After about ten minutes of all of us searching, we find it tucked away in the corner of the shelf. The car ride home, I texted Benedict, asking if he and his family could come. He replied with:
thot u would never ask. we were bout to stay home sadly moping around watching football.
Back to the future. I had woken up early help get the house ready, and headed downstairs to help my mom finish icing the cake. It was a two-tiered cake, with a blue and a red velvet layer, and white cream cheese frosting. The top was decorated with various red and blue berries. We put that in the fridge, and when it was time to eat it, we would take it out and stick in the candles. When that was done, I ran to help set up outside. I placed some firewood into the fire pit, unfolded the folding tables and chairs, and managed to lug the charcoal out of the car into the backyard. I then went back up to my room to put my swimsuit on and some shorts and stuff on.. Dad went to check on his marinating meat. At about 10 am, Becca and Benedict both arrive on my doorstep at the same time. They have their boards, and they say that both their families are coming later. For a while, we just sit and talk about random things- the courses we wanted to take next year, the grades we expected to get, the newest skateboards that we thought were cool. At about 11:30, Becca's older sister, back from college, and her parents arrive. At 12, Benedict's parents and Andy come.
