"What is love?" I asked my kitty. "It is a strange thing, I love my parents, I love you, but I don't love you the way I love my parents.

I pet Copper, my calico kitty. "You love me, or at least I think you do." Copper purs happily as I pet her.

I liked having a normal boring life. I felt comfy, I had a mum and dad who loved me, I had Copper, and I had my best friends, Sky and Kimmy. My life felt perfect, I couldn't ask for more, hell I even enjoyed being single. The last person I dated showed me that I didn't need to be in one of those "relationships" to be happy. All I needed was me, myself, and I, and well, food.
Tomorrow was the first day of school and I was one of the top dogs, a senior, at Midveiw High. I wasn't really popular, but people knew my name. I hated school, but for some strange unknown reason, I wanted to go to college. Just the thought of it made me want to jump for joy.
I heard a knock on my door then it opened, "Taylor your friends are here."
I got up and quickly slipped into my sneakers, grabbed my favorite white hoodie, walked over to my mum, and hugged her. "Thanks for letting me know."
A familiar face popped up behind my mum, it was Sky, she was the shortest of the group, but definitely was the reason we were always laughing. Over the summer she had decided to dye her hair neon pink and you could have spotted her from a mile away. Behind Sky was Kimmy, the tallest of us, with glasses, jet-black hair, and a hipster flannel.
"Are you ready yet you hoe?" Sky asked. We burst out laughing, and my mum just glared at us, she didn't like our nicknames.
"Been a while since you've called me that," I said while escorting them to the door before my mum had the chance to lecture us on our nicknames again.
"Awe it was just getting fun." Kimmy pouted as we piled into Sky's silver car. "You always rush us out of your house."
"Yeah, because I don't want my mum to lecture you guys and me about our nicknames," I stated in a matter-of-factly way. "Anyways, Sky what are we doing?"
"That's a secret." She grinned, "Why don't you two go back to bickering like an old married couple." To which I rolled my eyes.
"Gross, I would never marry that slut." I shot Kimmy an evil glare.
"I'm not a slut you hoe!" She responded as quickly as the word came out of my mouth. "I'm a slutty whore." All the while Sky just laughed.
"You thought about it though," Sky told me, causing me to turn slightly pink in the cheeks. "Back when you first met, you were all like, Oh look at her, the way she moves and how she dresses. Oh, I think I'm in love with her you said once."
"I did not say I loved her." I rolled my eyes. "I said I think I could tolerate her for a while."
"Awe, you loved me," Kimmy said looking back at me with a wicked grin on her face.
"Not even." I stuck my tongue out. "The only people I love are my parents, and I love my kitty. You most definitely are not one of those."
Kimmy flipped the bird at me, and I did it back. We had a love-hate relationship and we could pick fun at each other and be rude, but god help anyone else who tried that shit. The last person that I could think of who tried was Kimmy's ex Kaide, she walked into him with his hand down some freshman's pants while they were dating. To put it short, Kaide no longer had a car, it was an ugly car anyway, and his football jersey was no longer the school colors, but instead, it was a bright shade of pink. Like I said, no one got away with messing with any one of us.
