I sat there in shock, not sure of what to do. The commotion outside had stopped and been replaced with yelling from Uma. She was pretty upset about losing to Mal, apparently again. Then, she yelled something about going after them and leaving Harry in charge. After a few seconds of silence I heard cheering. I leaned against the door to make sure I was right. Yup, they were cheering. I wonder why?

I also heard footsteps, coming closer and closer to me. They were accompanied by whistling. A pang of nervous excitement went through my heart. Could that be Harry walking over to me? A small part of me hoped it was. The door opened which caused me to fall into someone's boots. When I looked up I saw Hook, grinning and staring down at me with his beautiful blue-sliver eyes.

"Have you heard the good news, love?" he asked, his smile growing more.

"What good news? That my friends have left for Auradon and forgotten about me?" I retorted with a smirk.

"Oh, no," his smile disappeared for only a second before he continued, "I'm captain until Uma returns!"

"That's great for you, I suppose," I stood up and if my hands wouldn't have been tied behind my back, I would've brushed the non existent dirt off of my pants in a show of apathy to him.

"No, it's great for you! You want to know why?" Harry stepped closer to me and played with a lock of my hair.

"You seem pleased with yourself," I stated, "so, why is that beneficial to me?" I asked.

"Because you can be freed under my command!" he pulled his sword from his belt and raised it to the ceiling. A champion's smile plastered itself across his face.

"This seems all to easy," I said eyeing him. After a moment I turned around so he could cut me free from my ropes, which he did promptly and with a little chuckle.

"Come join me on deck, love?" I turned to see Harry's hand extended to me.

"I've got nothing to lose, why not?" I replied taking his hand. A warmth filled my body and I smiled. Somehow this felt natural and comforting.

Hook used his other hand to push the door open and light flooded through the opening. I saw the pirate crew dancing and cheering all about the deck. Some held large mugs of what, I wasn't sure, others clapped each other on the backs in celebration. The air was electric with excitement which betrayed the mood set by the gray sky.

"Wow," the word slipped out of my mouth at a whisper.

"They're really not all that bad, just loyal to a fault," Harry said as he hopped on some railing to sit.

"I thought my friends were too," I looked down at the ground and took up a spot leaning on the railing beside Harry.

"Don't worry, they'll come back for you," he said and rested a hand on my shoulder.

"What if I never wanted them to in the first place?" I whispered.

"What do you mean?" I could feel Harry's eyes on me but, I continued to gaze out across the deck.

"I just wanted, I don't know," I trailed off.

"I think you do know. You knew exactly what you wanted last night and just how you felt this morning," his accent floated right by my ear, "You can be quite demanding."

"Yeah, demanding,"I scoffed.

"Really, what's on your mind, love?"

"I only came here because I thought it would be like home."

"Neverland?" Harry asked.

"Yeah, and it isn't too far off in theory. I'm starting to realize that nothing can be exactly like home," I finally met his stare and felt a pang of excitement go though my body. His eyes were so beautiful.

"Why didn't you you just go back, then?" Hook asked the obvious question that seemed to hang in the air around us.

"It's Peter Pan, my dad. He doesn't want me to come back. He sent me away to Auradon prep so I would grow up," I turned my head away from Harry, "so he wouldn't have to."

"I'm sorry love," He replied, probably at a lack for a better response.

"Don't worry about it, it's not you fault by any means," I said and stepped away from the railing I'd been leaning on, "Why don't we lighten up the mood, Captain?"

"Why don't we?" Harry jumped off the banister and took me hand in his. Immediately my body felt warm, despite the obvious cold of being by the water in such gloomy weather. Hook led me down some stairs to the main deck where everyone was celebrating.

"There's our captain!" Someone shouted and the crowd erupted into cheers. A huge grin spread across Harry's face as he soaked up their praise.

"Go on," I encouraged, "Join your crew. Have some fun!" I expected him to release me hand and submerge himself in the crowd, instead he pulled me along with him as he made his way to the center of the gathering.

"Come on lads!" he shouted as he stood up on a barrel to make himself seem, "Someone around here knows how to play some music!"

Cheers rumbled up again as someone lifted up a guitar. Then a fiddle joined it's ranks in the air, along with a tambourine. The three instruments made their way to an empty area where all could see them. I realized the girl holding the guitar was the one who'd tied me up earlier. The boy holding the tambourine was short with a white and red striped shirt and the fiddle player wore an eye patch and a short, pleated skirt.

They all seemed to whisper among themselves before the eye patch girl nodded and the tambourine started to tap out a beat. Then the other two started to play along in what was a surprisingly good upbeat song.

"Care to dance, love?" Harry asked as he hoped down from the barrel, once again extending his hand to me.

"I'd love to," I replied and clasped his hand. He pulled me closer to him and we danced around with such energy it felt like the air was crackling with electricity.

We traveled all around the deck and I could feel eyes pass over us at every moment. Was it me they were looking at? Or a newly happy Harry Hook? His smile was not snarky and his eyes didn't glint with intentions of wrong doings. He didn't stop to tease anyone nor did he command them to do his bidding. This was Hook, enjoying himself without tying himself to some sort of duty he must have felt towards Uma. This was the real Harry. One that was starting to grow on me
