HEY I'M GONNA TRY WRITING A ONE-SHOT!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It's over."
Oliver muttered as he collapsed onto the floor. His legs were trembling, and there was a shooting pain in his chest. A few tears trailed down his cheeks.
"So soon..."
Oliver knew something horrid was coming. What that was, he didn't know. All he knew is that it would happen within 24 hours, as confirmed by a message that Piko had sent him over the weekend.
He simply laid on the floor, reminiscing about all the good times he and Len had together. "All of that will soon be gone", he thought. Every flashback brought another wave of tears down his face. That weekend was absolute agony for him. It was just sitting... and waiting, waiting for the inevitable words to come out of Len's mouth. He played through the scene a few times in his head, mentally preparing himself for the moment, but he couldn't help but cry no matter how many times he thought about it.
"I'm through..."
Oliver's eyes closed, and he soon fell asleep on the cold, hard tile.
~~~~~~~~~
He woke up to the blaring of his alarm clock. He dragged his feet as he sauntered around the house, slowly preparing for the upcoming school day.
"Just a few hours."
Oliver trudged down the sidewalk, which was covered in the remains of freshly cut grass. The smell of it caused him to sneeze as he ambled in the chill, autumn weather. After a longer time than usual, he arrived the school.
"Soon."
He casually slipped off his light, jean jacket and tossed it into his locker, revealing the plain black shirt underneath it. As he was grabbing his books, he glanced over and saw Len opening his locker.
"Hello, Len!" Oliver greeted, putting on a convincing, yet fake, smile.
"Hello, Oliver! How was your weekend?"
"It was good."
Oliver paused a second before continuing.
"I have to head off to class, or I'll be late. See you later!"
Oliver said that when, in fact, he had a good amount of time before his first class, but he acted as though he was in a big rush to keep himself from having an emotional breakdown in front of Len.
~~~~~~~~~
After seven hours of suffering, it was the end of the school day. Len was already messing with his locker by the time Oliver got there.
"Now."
Oliver slowly approached his locker, certain that within a few minutes, he would be sobbing all over the floor of the hallway.
"Hey, Oliver!" Len said, initiating a conversation between the two boys.
"Hello, Len!" Oliver replied, holding back tears.
The two played with the dials on their lockers for a second, staying completely silent. That is, until Len decided to break the tense silence.
"Um, Oliver. I need to tell you something."
This was it. It was the moment Oliver had been dreading.
"What is it, Len?"
Len stepped out into the middle of the hallway, grabbing Oliver's wrist and pulling him along the floor. He dropped down onto one knee.
"What is happening?"
"Oliver, I love you, and I want to be with you forever. Would you please accept this?" he slowly inquired holding out a velvet-covered box with two rings inside of it.
"He's proposing to me?!"
He didn't even have to think to answer.
"Yes, Len!"
Len slid one of the rings onto Oliver's fourth finger, and he placed the other on his own. They were made of gorgeous sterling silver and had roses engraved in them.
"How beautiful!" Oliver thought, looking down at his hand in awe.
Len stood back up and let go of Oliver's wrist.
"Let's get married in a few years," Len murmured in Oliver's ear.
Len then embraced Oliver, and the two connected their lips in a passionate kiss. Tears did fall from Oliver's eyes, but they weren't tears of pain and sadness. They were tears of joy. He wasn't going to lose Len. They would get to be with each other for eternity.
After a few minutes in heaven, the two backed away from the kiss. Many of the people around them clapped, and some called them rude names, but none of that mattered to either of them. They were so overjoyed that they could only focus on each other at that moment. They grabbed their books and exited the school, grasping each other's hands.
"And soon enough we'll be married."
