Somehow the world is always seen as something beautiful and magnificent. Never the less, a scene can still be mesmerizing, despite how horrible it was in the past. It's no surprise that a breathtaking scene of a gloriously blue ocean shimmering unbeknownst to most because it was located far below the highest peak can still carry such heavy emotions in a young girl's heart. The frequent waves carried glittering sands to the shore as little Gianni sat with a candle cupped delicately between both of her small hands. The flame flickered and blew along with the spurts of wind, as if obeying it was it's own will. Being here flooded Gianni's mind with old memories and feelings that could carry enough weight to make her wish to never see it again. She was still in fact alive.

Gianni had loved the thought of "there's more below the surface." Like walking on ice when there's a whole beautiful ecosystem living and thriving below you without you even knowing or caring. Why have one thing, when you can have so much more if you give it more thought. Getting distracted on what's in front of you will blind you from seeing so much more. That is the way of her world. Everyone had their own power--their own universe. And yet they chose to believe that what they possess is all they'll ever have in life. They all had roles to play, and no one was brave enough to disperse from that train of though. But, somehow, Gianni did. The girl closed her eyes and blew out the candle in her hands.
With the flame gone, she felt a little bit more cold, but the stars looked much more beautiful when the flame stopped relentlessly shining.

Ten years into the future...

"Gianni!" Amira was yelling as she ran up to her friend.

Her skirt clung high onto her thighs, hugging the dip of her waist very skimpishly. Her reddened-brown hair was pinned to one side with a little side bun, bouncing with her every step. She gave Gianni a kind smile that she only reserved for her close friends, and lent her pale hand to her.

"Come with me." Amira tugged on Gianni's sleeve, making her stumble along behind her friend like a ragdoll. Gianni enjoyed seeing her friend so ecstatic in the morning, it gave her a little boost of energy to start her day. Though, when came the time, she had no idea how she was meant to greet her overly enthusiastic best friend. The first bell rang for almost 30 seconds blarring every student's ears. Everyone cringed in annoyance, and the chatter only grew louder.

School has begun. Well not really... --Breakfast has begun.

Amira, hyper as always, clinged to Gianni's right side as tired students pushed through the small hallway space to her left. Gianni hated walking in the school halls with a passion. Kids were extremely rude, or too awkward to combat. The hallway was always packed with students like an afternoon traffic rush-hour. All the students were compacted like sardines. Ironically, her school district was one of the smallest in the county, but somehow it gathered tons of kids. It certainly didn't feel small when they were all squished together in a thin hallway like this.

Pushing her annoyance aside, she continued walking to her locker with Amira on her side, commenced in an ongoing battle to shuffle through the herd of high schoolers. They made quite a good amount of progress until she saw him— Erian Blythe, Also known as the CUTEST guy she has ever seen...well, excluding some celebrities. She immediately fell in love with Erian in just one glance. His wore trendy glasses that covered the freckles that dusted his cute little button nose. He had thick long dark eyelashes and full eyebrows, and the most gorgeous hazel eyes. His dirty blond hair stayed perfectly swept to one side of his face, deviously falling infront of his left eye. She began to drool just thinking about how he could easily tower over her. He was perfect in her eyes, but his personality was even better.

Amira saw how the girl was melting at the sight of Erian and laughed.

"Are you ever going to talk to him?" She poked fun at her friend.

Gianni, breaking out of her trance, blushed a firey red. "Why would I do that? It would be so awkward. He probably doesn't even know I exist..." She sighed as her head fell.

"Shall we find out?" Amira asked, with a smirk playing on her face.

"Wha—" Gianni's eyes widened, "Hey Erian!" Amira turned to face Erian and waved. Before Gianni could process anything, Amira called to Erian from across the hall. Gianni quickly tried to hide, out of complete embarrassment, and afraid of her crush's impending doom approach. And unfortunately for Gianni, like any normal person would do, he walked over.

"Sup' Amira! And..." He tilted his head to see the person hiding behind Amira, "Gianni?" He chuckled with a hint of confusion. Amira nudged her friend, as she just proved that Erian had indeed known that she exsisted. Gianni shot a glare to her best friend. 'Point proven, now what?' She couldn't keep hiding behind Amira because it was rude. Gianni sheepishly came out of hiding and nervously smiled.

"Hi..." She said wryly.

He returned a tight-lipped grin in appreciation. She has gushed over that smile of his millions of times, but she couldn't show that it made her heart turn in knots as she stood directly in front of him.

"What's your first class, 'Rian?" Amira asked.

At the beginning of every year, Amira and Gianni needed to survey everyone's class schedule so they knew which classes to love and which ones to have their funeral in.

"I have Chemistry in first hour." He responded, still smiling.

Gianni hoped that Amira wouldn't fall for his godly smile like she had.

'Wait...did he just say..........CHEMISTRY?'

"Y-You have Chemistry first?" Gianni struggled to comprehend what he had said, with her eyes nearly bulging out of her head (or what felt like it, at least).

'Oh no.

Oh no.

Ohoho no..'

The voice in her head kept repeating over and over again. He looked at her with a peculiar glint in his eyes that drove her absolutely crazy.

"Yep," He popped the 'p' sound, "What about it?" He asked.

'Looks like I'll be failing Chemistry this year...'

Gianni merely shook her head. She just couldn't form any words.

"Gianni has Chemistry in first hour as well." Amira said, secretly waggling her eyebrows at her friend.

"Um! Yes-yes I do!" Gianni responded automatically, as she nervously scratched the corner of her lips. Her eyes diverted from the conversation subject and landed on the floor.

Erian nodded, "Well, I'll see you in a little bit then, Gianni. I suppose I should throw my things in my locker now though." He waved to the two girls before walking off in the opposite direction they had come.

"So it looks like you two have chemistry together. Isn't that ironic?" Amira punned.

However Gianni wasn't paying any attention to her friend as she could only watch Erian from afar. She let out a long sigh like a lovesick puppy.

"You are hopeless, girl." Amira patted Gianni's slumped shoulder.

"I know." She smiled to herself.
