Soon enough, their last class arrived. Which was absolute chaos to say the least. Erian and Amira were in the same class as Gianni for their last hour. Amira was practically bouncing off the walls in anticipation, waiting for the last bell to release her from the hellhole she was bound to for six hours straight. She jabbered on and on about her weird obsession with the elderly and how much of a kind person Gianni was. Erian just smiled and listened silently to her endless chatter. He seemed to be a little uncomfortable, zoning out to Amira's words. Hell, even Gianni was drifting away. But, she came back when her eyes locked with Erian's. His lips seemed to lift upwards at the interaction. Gianni couldn't seem to shake her eyes away from his.
"Is she always like this?" He lipped to me without actually talking. Gianni nodded, feeling a little sorry for the guy.
The history teacher snapped at Amira for talking while she was teaching, and moved her to the back of the class. After that, everything went back to normal and the final bell rang at last. Amira happily skipped out of classroom and into the hallway.
"I can't believe she changed my seat!" Amira gritted.
"Well maybe you shouldn't have talked the whole time. You blew out cover." Gianni giggled.
"You know I can't keep my mouth shut. My voice is too beautiful to be kept silent."
Gianni sighed at her theatrical friend. Truthfully, it wasn't a bad first day, but it was definitely chaotic. Amira paused in the hallway, as her phone buzzed. "Sorry it's my dad, I gotta take this call."
Gianni gave her a thumbs up and continued walking out the school.
Gianni waited by the door at the school's entrance, since she usually walked home with Amira. She had all the time in the world to wait there. Erian soon showed up behind her, and gave her a little tap, causing her to jump where she stood.
"Hey." He smiled, brushing the hair out of his eyes, which only lasted for a brief moment before it fell back in front of his face. Gianni instantly blushed, since she was talking to the cutest guy in school, AFTER school. Did she mention he was cute?
"H-hi." She stuttered, holding her breath.
He grabbed her wrist making her heart fall into a weird sort of frenzy.
"Nice bracelet!" He complimented the embroidered strap on her arm. "Where'd you get it?" He asked in a sweet tone.
She was, however, still distracted by his beautiful blue eyes.
"I..I made it." She somehow choked out a response.
"Could you make me one?" He pleaded, cupping her hand with his own, with a hopeful grin playing on his lips. Gianni slowly processed the conversation and instantly took her hand away. He looked shocked at her unintentional rejection. She just played it off as if she had an itch on her neck.
"Ah..Sure?" She said, confused with what she had just signed up for. But, the expression he gave her was a reward enough in itself to make her want to give him everything she had to give.
"Awesome! You're awesome! Thank you so much, Gianni!" He psyched up his fists in cheer.
"You seem too happy about something like a silly bracelet," She giggled at Erian's dorky nature.
He shyed away from a victory dance, feeling embarrassment peak at his previous gestures. "A-Ah! Well, it's just that I've never had anything that could remind me of my friends." A hint of sadness filled his eyes.
Gianni's heartstrings tugged when she saw his saddened face, "Here," She unlatched the bracelet from her wrist and settled it into his hands. She squeezed his fingers around it, to emphasize that she was giving it to him. "Think of this as a sign of our friendship." She smiled warmly. The boy fumbled with the bracelet for a few seconds, attempting to put it on his wrist, and failing.
"Let me help." She didn't wait for his response as she twirled her fingers around the bracelet, wrapping it gently around his wrist and clipped the ends together. Her focused face made Erian feel a little flustered.
"Thanks again..." He chuckled nervously. He lifted his wrist to look at the end result. "You are a true talent, Gianni."
All Gianni could hear was her rampant heartbeat thumping into her ears. Her spurt of confidence had just dwindled to somewhere below zero. "H-Huh? O-Oh! S-Sure!" She mashed her words together, feeling a hot blush creeping onto her skin. Amira quickly rushed to greet the two right on time.
'Saved by the bell!'
Gianni has never been more happy to see her troublemaking friend. "I gotta get home quickly. We should leave now. Goodbye Erian." Amira waved and grabbed Gianni's hand, noticing that her bracelet was gone. "Where'd your bracelet go?" She asked.
"Oh um...."
