I felt the car stop then my door opened.

“Come on, Hale.” Ruby said.

She helped me get out of the car and fixed my dress. It was already night time. Well, that’s the last thing I knew before Ruby put on this blindfold on me.

“Ruby, where are we?” I asked.

“You’ll know in a minute.”

Ruby and I stopped at the entrance and I felt doors open.

“You can take off your blindfold now.” Ruby said.

I took off my blindfold and I was inside this big room that was decorated. I saw the stage and there was a big sign that said, ‘Happy 17th Birthday, Haley White!’

“SURPRISE!” All of these people came out. It took me a minute to realize that they were my friends… all of them.

Chris came to me and I was shocked to see him.

“Do you like the dress?” He winked at me.

“Yes, I do. Thanks.” I smiled.

He hugged me and hugged him back. After seconds, I let go.

“Not that I’m complaining,” I start. “But why are you here? I thought you had family problems to attend to?”

“I lied. But only for this surprise.” He smiled at me.

The party went on and I had the best time of my life. I got to dance with my friends. Since it was summer, I haven’t seen them in a long time. I’m usually at home or just with Ruby.

We danced, ate, drank a bit, and just partied! Time passed by and Ruby appeared on the big stage.

“Hello? Is this thing on? Hello? Test. Alright.” She said through the microphone. “May I have everyone’s attention please?”

Everyone went quiet. There were about 500 people there. My friends, their friends, some of my old classmates, and Nan.

“Thank you.” Ruby said. “Now, as we all know, it’s Haley’s birthday today. I planned to give her seventeen gifts because, well, she’s seventeen now. Haha. But I just gave her sixteen gifts yet. This party is the sixteenth.”

She looked at me and I mouthed to her, ‘Thank you.’ She just smiled back.

“So, Haley, for my seventeenth gift for you, please help me welcome… One Direction!”

My mouth literally dropped! Am I dreaming?! This is crazy!!
