I scrubbed my hands for what seemed like the hundredth time, the blood of my love had stained them those weeks ago.
"Damnit!!" I cursed, my voice hoarse and my throat aching. Her scent still lingered, the sweet smell of her delectable blood, he essence that I had taken, devoured against her will. My thoughts were interrupted by a sharp piercing pain that shoot through my brain and seemingly bounced from lobe to lobe. The pain had started about a week ago and now the episodes came more frequently and lasted longer.
"Eh... Wonshik, is that you in there?" Hongbin asked from behind the bathroom door, his voice low and filled with unease. I ignored him and gazed at my reflection, my skin was sickly pale and my cheeks sunken, the face of sickness and famine. My hair hung damp over my eyes, my eyes which seemed to have forgotten the life of humanity. They were void of emotions dark pits of hunger and greed, eyes that used to show love, kindness now only knew the basics of survival, instinct. Fight or flight, eat or die.
"Seriously man, I know you're messed up and all, but come outside we have 'stuff' to do." Hongbin explained his voice laced with impatience. I sighed at his tone and pulled a shirt over my head covering the ribs and collarbones that were far too obvious.
"What do you want" I growled my glare silencing Hongbin's witty remarks, his expression changed to an uncharacteristic look of concern as he studied my starved body.
"Huh... you really did let it go to far" he mumbled as he looked into my eyes, my eyes that had become more animalistic than human. I glared once again before walking by the unusually beautiful man only to be stopped by his strong grip on my wrist.
"You need to eat you idiot, otherwise you will lose all control and kill someone!" He lectured his voice growing louder with every syllable,
"SHUT UP!" I responded through gritted teeth, he was right the smell of blood was always biting at my thoughts and his strong heartbeat was driving me insane. Hunger seemed to constrict my abdomen causing pain to erupt through my body and me to fall to my knees taking my new friend with me.
"Hey... you have to calm down... you'll make a mistake" Hongbin shouted barely audible over his heartbeat. His delicate yet powerful heartbeat, a sharp pain caressed over my lip as I continued to stare at the tender skin under Hongbin's ear, the blood rushing by in delicious waves.
"Hey man... sto..." Hongbin exclaimed his voice now laced with a cocktail of fear, anger and pain as my fangs sank into that delicate flesh. My mind became overwhelmed with flashes of light and images until a clear picture formed, there stood Hongbin, younger and seemingly human, shivering in the fresh snow. Tears streaked down his cheeks as he looked around at the carnage lying by his feet. Three figures lay, pale and slowly turning the purity of the snow around them red. The rich colour of blood flooded the images leaving me back in my now sated mind.
The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth calming the pain in my stomach, Hongbin's grip on my shoulders tensed with every second, before they became weak and fell to his side. I could feel his heartbeat flutter gently under my fingers as I laid his now limp body onto the royal indigo carpet. Regret assaulted my now calm mind as footsteps made their way closer, the scent of blood had definitely caused a stir within the minds of the other members of this household.
"No no no... what did I do" I whispered as panick raced full force into my head and through my now stronger heart, Hongbin was dangerously pale, his dark chestnut hair lay in tangled knots from where my fingers had held them granting me full access to his neck. His eyes were shadowed and fluttered ever so slightly with every breath he took. Beads of sweat trailed down his face meeting with the tears that had fallen during the attack that seemed so short yet so long. Angry maroon bruises already began to form around the two holes left in his soft skin by my animalistic actions.
"You stupid idiot!" Hakyeon exclaimed from down the narrow hall, his voice darkened by anger, "why do you have to be so stubborn, if you had just listened to what we all have told you hundreds of times this wouldn't of happened!" The leader continued to come closer his voice dripping with superiority and his face a dangerous mask of disgust and disappointment.
"I.. I" i started only to be shoved against the wall by Leo's shoulder as he helped the limp Hongbin to his feet. Darkness covered his features and a forgotten past seemed to have awoken within his normally emotionless eyes. Memories that were better off forgotten.
"He's not all that different from you, you know..." ken said while he watched the two oldest members carry my victim away, "Leo refused to accept blood, and food for weeks like you... only his mistake was so much worse.."
"What do you mean... how could it be worse?" I asked dreading the answer.
"His mistake ended in death..."
