Ross’s POV

I woke up the next morning. Talia was asleep her head on my lap. She was sleeping so peaceful. Someone knocked on the door. I had to move her. I carefully picked her head up. I replaced my lap for a pillow and laid her head on it. I walked over to the door and opened it.

“Ross?” May said. She just stood there.

‘’Yes. Shh Talia is asleep.” I said.

“You slept here!” She yelled.

“I said shut up.” I grabbed her hand and pulled her inside.

“Why are you here?” May asked.

“I came to get her back.” I started walking to the kitchen. “Coffee?” I asked.

“Sure.” She sat at the island. “Did it work?”

“No. She has Zachary now… so.”

“You mean that jerk. Yeah he’s lovely.” May giggled. I made the coffee and gave her a cup. I sat next to her on the island.

“You don’t like him either?” I asked

“No. I don’t even know why she does.” May shrugged.

“I don’t either.”

“It’s weird cause she only likes…. well you.” May said looking at me.

“Clearly she’s over that.” I took a drink of my coffee.

“Yeah sure.” May turned to me.

“What do you mean?”

“She never stops talking about you.” May said.

“That is totally not true.” Talia said walking into the room.

“Yes it is.” May said.

“You know why are you talking about me anyway?” Talia got her coffee and looked at us.

“Cause Ross still loves you.” May looked at me. Ok to be honest I was pretty freaked out.

“What?” Talia said choking on her coffee.

“You heard me.” May said. I heard someone enter the house.

“Guys someone’s here.” I said quietly. I had a gun in my back pocket.

“What? No there’s not.” Talia said.

“Ross don’t make stuff up.” May said.

“I’m not kidding guys get behind me.” I said.

“Whatever Ross.” Talia said. Suddenly a guy with a gun came in the kitchen.

“GUYS GET BEHIND ME!!” I yelled. I pulled my gun out. The girls ran behind me. I felt Talia’s hand wrap around my waist. I pointed my gun at him. The guy pointed the gun at May.

"Ok now lets not get carried away." May said.

"Why are you here?" I asked. Talias grip tightened on my waist.

The guy froze and then ran.

"What the!" I yelled. Talia let go of my waist. I ran after him. The guy went out of the door. He shot the house a couple times then got in his car and left. Talia and May ran up behind me.

"Who was that guy?" I asked. Talia and May looked at each other. "Talia?" She had a nervous look across her face.

"That was Bryce." Talia said.

"Who is Bryce?" I asked.

"Zacharys best friend." Talia said.

"Why would he want to shot you?" I asked.

"Well one time I had just met Zachary and he came over to his house. He was hitting on me even though I was with Zachary and I punched him and he threatened to kill me but everytime he tried Zachary showed up. Ross I'm scared!" Talia said. Tears were falling from her eyes. I engulfed her in a hug and she cried into my shirt.

"I won't let him hurt you." I said.

"But how?" May asked.

"I need you to come back to Cali with me."

"Ross no." Talia said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because that's where my life got ruined." Talia said looking me right in the eye.

"Fine. Good luck." I said I got up and walked out the door. I was getting in my car May came running outside.

"Ross please don't give up." May said.

"I'm sorry but I can't do it without her coming home."

"You just said her home is your home."

"That's because it is." I said.
