Chapter 12

Talia's POV

I couldn't sleep last night. I was waiting for a call from my parents waiting to hear that Ross has broke in and is freaking out. Because there has been no word from them since they visited.

I heard something hit my window that sounded like a rock. I flinched. I decided to ignore it. I turned over and closed my eyes trying to sleep once again. I heard something hit my window again. This time I decided to get up to see what it was. I walk over to the window. I saw his face looking up at the window. It was Ross. A part of me wanted to run down there and jump into his arms but the other part of me wants to yell at him. He motioned my to come down.

I put some shoes on and ran down the 5 flights of stairs. When I opened the door he was sitting on a bench waiting for me. I stopped. I don't know what I'm doing. Ross turned his head and stood up when he saw me.

"You're alive." He said smiling. I couldn't help but smile. NO STOP THAT! I said to myself.

"Why are you here?" I asked him wiping the smile off my face.

"I needed to see you. Things shouldn't have ended the way they did with us." Ross said.

"But they did."

"You promised. You know that right?" He asked.

"What do you mean?"

"You said that when you turn eighteen we can be together for real." Ross exclaimed.

"Well I was a child then Ross. It's different now." I looked down at my hands. "I didn't mean for it to turn out this way. I did love. I would have fought for you. Really."

"I know." That's all he could say. Come on.

"Please don't hate me. That's all I've been afraid of this whole time. Yes I moved on. Yes I promised something I couldn't promise. But you mean the world to me, Ross. I couldn't have done this without you. Just say I did the right thing. Please."

There was a long pause. Tears started to fall from my eyes. "How can I say that? All you did was hurt me." Ross looked me straight in the eyes. He turned and walked away.

I was standing alone in the pouring rain on the sidewalk. He was in his car across the street. I couldn't leave. I started to run towards his car. When I got to it I knocked on the door until he got out.

"How dare you just walk away!" I yelled. "You drove me crazy for years! I wanted to be with you! I loved you! After you hid from me and After the crazy guy tried to kill me YOU were there! But now you walk away! No, Ross! I won't do this anymore!" I stopped and stared at him.

He walked up to me and smiled. "You are crazy."  He said. He put his hand on my cheek and another on my back and pulled me close to him.

"Don't do this again." I  said. "I don't want to get hurt."

"Then don't let yourself." He said. He leaned forward and kissed me.
