Lucy looked down at te simple words on her arm "Thank you, for everything" She just smiled because she knew that's what her soulmate was going to say to her when they met. Lucy always heard her friends talking about how they met and what words were exchanged. She never imagined that she would have something so simple and complex at the same time.

Lucy was walking to the library on her campus to study. She just couldn't stop thinking about what was on her wrist. When she went inside the building she went straight to the quietest part of the library.

As she placed her books and backpack down she noticed a boy sitting at the table across from her.

Immediately she got flustered by how attractive he was. She also found his hair color quite odd. Never in her life had she seen a man with pink hair before.

He looked up and gave a genuine smile. Lucy smiled back and sat down focusing on her work. What she didn't know was that the man was still looking at her. Completely entranced by her beauty. He shook himself out of it and went back to his work.

After a few moments of pure awkwardness. Lucy noticed a sticky note, the words written on it were

"Can you help me find a book for Physics?
-Natsu btw"

She giggled to herself and wrote back

"Sure! Follow me.
-Lucy"

She got up from her seat and lead the boy to the back wall where all the Physics books were. He smiled and said "Thank you so much!"

Lucy gasped and looked at her wrist in hopes that she had found her soulmate. Sadly the words were not the same. She just nodded her head as saying 'you're welcome' and went back to her seat.

Hours passed and Lucy kept catching Natsu staring at her. Every time she caught him he never looked away or down, he just kept looking at her like she was a precious crystal.

Lucy looked at her watch and realized she was almost late for work. Without any words and only swift movements she picked up her books, shoved them in her backpack, and sped out the door.

Natsu was confused by the sudden action. He just sat there, dumbfounded. He then proceeded packing his things as well and leaving.

The next week they met again in the library. Same seats and everything. They talked through sticky notes until they ran out. This process lasted for weeks until Natsu picked up the courage to finally ask her out for lunch. Neither of them truly considered it a date, just two friends meeting up and talking face to face without any sticky notes.

Natsu noticed his palms were more sweaty than usual. Why was his stomach acting so different? What were these feelings? Little did he know Lucy was struggling with the same thing.

They didn't find it difficult to talk to one another at all. Everything came so naturally, nothing felt unusual.

They talked and talked till the manager of the restaurant had to kick them out. The two went outside and exchanged phone numbers. Then they parted ways, each not wanting the night to end.

When Lucy got in her dorm she wondered if she should text Natsu. She paced and paced waiting for a text from him.

Natsu was doing the exact same thing. Both too nervous to send the first text and both anxious upon receiving the first text.

Finally Natsu stirred up the guts and sent a simple 'Hey, it's Natsu'. That was soon to be returned.

They talked for even longer. About what? Neither of them cared, they just wanted to talk. After knowing each other for only a month and a half they already felt like best friends. But they both wanted a deeper relationship. They both knew they did.

Finally after 3 months Natsu asked Lucy out on an oficial date. Lucy didn't have any doubts about it and said "Yes" immediately. Just like how she did when he proposed a year and a half later. Then she said something similar on the alter, and he said it too.

After being married for 3 years Lucy discovered something absolutely fantastic and terrifying at the same time. She waited for Natsu to get home to reveal the news.

"Lucy are you serious!" Natsu whisper yelled. The nod of a head was the only response.

"You're telling me that I'm going to be a- oh my god I'm going to be- I can't believe this!" He said with pure joy and excitement. With arms wide open he ran over to his beautiful wife and picked her up then spun her around. She just giggled but soon the giggles turned to happy tears. They both sat on the couch snuggling with a hand on her abdomen. Natsu was flabbergasted, he couldn't believe what had happened.

The sound of small feet running rang through the entire house. Followed by shrill screams of joy and larger footsteps.

Lucy couldn't stop the smile appearing on her face as she cooked dinner for her precious family. It was hard for her to maneuver around the kitchen. Only because she was 8 months pregnant with their next child.

She couldn't have asked for a better life. Every now and then she would question if she really found her soulmate. With one glance at Natsu and him play with their child she knew she had.

Tears were shed as the two parents waved goodbye to their youngest who was on their way to college. Many emotions were felt that day. Now that both their children were in college Natsu and Lucy were all alone.

The house felt so lonely and empty without them. Four years were absolute torture.

Then the circle repeated, small footsteps and giggles sounded throughout the house. Everyone had their spirits up. The best time of the year was when the grandkids would visit. Of course Meemaa Lucy would spoil them and PapPap Natsu would spoil them even more. Anything the grandkids wanted, they would get from their grandparents.

Finally it was Natsu's 70th birthday. The whole family got together to spend it together. The Lucy's 70th and the same thing happened.

Ten years later the day that everyone dreaded happened. PapPap Natsu was sick.

His whole life had been exactly what he wanted. Everything was perfect, his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandkids. They were all blessings to him.

He was okay with the fact that he was leaving. He didn't want to but he knew it would happen eventually.

His final moments on this earth had arrived. Lucy was sobbing next to him and she clutched onto his hand.

On his final breath he said

"Thank you, for everything"

Lucy sobbed as the heart beat monitor gave a flat line and a solid note. That was it, the love of her life taken from her hands, just like that.

She looked at the words written on her arm. As she traced the letters on her she sobbed, each one disappearing slowly.
