(Please note, this work of fiction takes place before Oscar Issac's real mother passed away.)
They're a hit. Mari plays every song perfectly to Oscar's deep resonating voice. When he offers her solos, she plays them brilliantly and doesn't think about the people watching; she only thinks of Oscar and his smile as she plays.
They play Moon River, Mari makes Oscar sing it but she does say she's dedicating it to a sweet young couple. She smiles, when she looks up and sees Daisy and John swaying in each other's arms to the song.
When they finally get off stage, they get flooded by people. Oscar smiles and thanks them but Mari just stand behind Oscar, nodding along to everyone's praise. It isn't until John and Daisy approach with two tall men that everyone disperses.
Daisy dives for a hug and Mari, safely, catches her.
"You were wonderful, Mari! Thank you so much!"
Everyone laughs as Mari returns the hug but tries to also hide behind Oscar.
Daisy lets her go and Mari blushes as she tries to go behind Oscar once more.
Oscar laughs before looping his arm around her waist to make her stand by his side.
Mari feels like she can't breath.
"Mari, I want to introduce you to two of the funniest guys on set!"
He motions to the two guys that had walked over with Daisy and John. The tallest one (and he is really tall) laughs before extending his hand towards her.
"I'm Adam. Not funny at all, despite what Oscar says."
Mari shakes his hand, "Mari, and I'm pretty sure you're funny."
The other male is a redhead with a beard seems to be growing in. He also extends his hand.
"Domhall but call me Dom or Hall and I am as funny as Oscar says I am. Also beautiful playing. I've never seen anything like that."
Mari shakes his hand, "Name's Mari and thank you. I've been playing for quite a while now."
Oscar squeezes her side and Mari has to stop her blush from reappearing.
"How did you two meet?" Adam asks and it startles Mari.
Oscar smiles once more, "At a really hip bar in Brooklyn."
And everyone groans. Mari looks confused. Daisy catches her confusion.
"Oscar is such a hipster. He's taken us to his hip bars and they're all very hipster-y," Daisy explains.
At that Mari laughs. "I'm sorry but Mist's bar is anything but hipster. All the patrons there are either old people from the neighborhood or dance classes that come to try out their tango or their swing. It's a dance floor more than a bar."
