An Adventure that is NOT Worth Forgetting

Chapter 2; Dreams really can come true!

I heard a feint knock on my bedroom door. "Come in." I said, knowing that it was my mother. "Hello, Nate." My mother said excitedly. "How come you're in such a good mood, mom?" I asked.

"Nate. I was just on the phone with the Pokemon Professor, Professor Juniper. She's an old colleague of mine and she said she has a request for you." My mother said happily. "Wh-Why does she need me to do something?" I stammered.

The Professor wants me to do something for her? I wonder what it could be?

"Nate, honey. Professor Juniper wants you to do something extremely important that will help her with her research." My mother said happily. "No way! Are serious, mom?!" I asked excitedly. "Honey, I have some questions for you, alright?" She asked me. "Okay! I'm ready!" I said.

"Okay. Question One. Do you know what a PokéDex is?" She asked. "Easy! That's that device that records different Pokemon's data!" I said proudly. "Okay! Question Two. Do you want a Pokemon?" She asked, holding my hand. I almost screamed. "YES! ABSOLUTELY!"

"Alrighty! Now, there's one more thing you have to do." My mother said. "Professor Juniper couldn't be here in person, so she sent her assistant. Her name is Bianca. I want you to go find her. That way, you can get your PokéDex and Pokemon! Bianca has a big green hat and blonde hair. You'll be able to spot her in no time!"

"Thank you so much, mom!" I said as I hugged my mother. "I'll be back soon, mom! And I'll be back with my new partner!" I said happily as I ran out the front door of our house.

I was walking down the streets when one of our neighbours approached me. "Hello, Nate. Are you going to have Hugh brag to you about his Pokemon today?" He teased. "Not today, Mr.Montgomery." I said happily. "Oh! So you're getting a Pokemon, huh? Congratulations!" He said as he smiled and went back to doing what he was doing. "Thank you, sir." I smiled.

"Hey, Nate!" I heard a voice. It was Hugh. "What's up, dude?" "You will not believe this, Hugh." I said. "I'm listening..." He said patiently. "So, I'm getting a Pokemon today and I have to find this girl named Bianca. She has the Pokemon I can choose and I was told that she wears a big green hat!" I shrieked.

Hugh looked shocked. His shocked expression quickly faded to an excited and eager smile! "Well, what're we waiting for? Let's got get that Pokemon of yours!" He cheered. He wasn't usually this happy.

Hugh and I nodded and ran through the city streets. "Woah!" I said as my best friend and I came to a halt. "They're building a Trainer's school here! That's awesome!" "Yeah, yeah. I doubt that it's gonna be more cool than you getting your own Pokemon." Hugh said. I chuckled lightly at his joke. Or at least I think it was a joke?

Hugh and I started running again and reached another sudden halt. "Hey, Nate. Wait." Hugh said. "I bet Bianca's up here at the Outlook. It's Aspertia's most famous spot! She's gotta be there." He said. "You're probably right! Let's go!" I said eagerly.

Hugh and I walked up the stairs to the outlook and saw a girl looking over the edge. "That's gotta be her, dude. Blonde and a big green hat. Come on! Go get your Pokemon already!" Hugh said as he waited on a bench.

I walked up towards the girl and stood beside her. The girl sighed. "It's sooooo pretty! Hey, don't you agree?" The girl asked. "Oh! I'm sorry! Um... I'm looking for someone. Do you by any chance know someone named Nate Andrews?" She asked.

She quickly looked me up and down. "Oh wait! YOU'RE Nate Andrews!" The girl blushed. I nodded my head with a smile. "Wow! You're ex-act-ly what I thought you'd look like! Or so I've been told, anyways."

"My name's Bianca!" She said happily. Bianca held out her hand for me to shake. Bianca looked like she was about 14 or 15 years old. "So, Nate! It's nice to meet you!" "Yes, you too." I replied.

"Okay. So I came here for something SUPER important! The Pokemon Professor, Professor Juniper, wants me to ask you if you could take one of these PokéDexes and help us fill it up with information?" Bianca asked.

I smiled widely. "I'll take that as a yes, then! Here you are!" She said as she handed me a light blue PokéDex. "Alright! Now, in my hands I hold your future Pokemon partner!" She said as she took out a black case.

My heart was pounding. I was so excited that I could barely breathe! Bianca opened the case and in there were three Pokeball's. Bianca smiled widely. I looked down at the three Pokeball's and inside were three small Pokemon.

"Alright! So the one on the far left is the grass type, Snivy, the grass snake Pokemon. In the middle, we have the fire type, Tepig, the fire pig Pokemon. And on the far right, we have the water type, Oshawott, the water otter Pokemon." Bianca explained.

I can't believe I'm about to get my very first Pokemon! I looked at the three Pokemon and thought long and hard about my decision. Alright! I know who I'm gonna pick!

"So? Have you decided?" Bianca asked eagerly. "Yup! I've decided that I'm gonna go with Oshawott." I said happily. "Wow! Great choice!" Bianca cheered. "Alright! Let's see if Oshawott will come out of its Pokéball for you. All you have to say is "Come on out, Oshawott! It's that easy. And it works for other Pokemon, too!" She explained,

I took in a deep breath. "Okay. Here goes. Come on out, Oshawott!" I said as I held the Pokéball out in front of me. A flash of white light appeared before us and out came my new Pokemon partner, Oshawott!

"Osha?" It said curiously as it looked at me. It walked over to me and cautiously walked around me in a circle, sniffing my legs and feet. It looked up at me again, but this time it was smiling. "Oshawott!" It said happily. It jumped into my arms and I caught it before it could fall.

"Wow! You and Oshawott go together even better than I imagined! You two will be great friends! I'm sure of it!" Bianca cheered. Oshawott and I both looked at each other and smiled. "Thank you so, so, so much, Bianca. I really appreciate this!" I said gratefully.

"It's no problem at all, Nate! And you shouldn't thank me. You should thank the Professor! She's the one who trusted you with this important job." Bianca. She seems really nice and happy. I could tell that we'd become really good friends.

"Heeeeeyyy..." I heard Hugh say. He walked up towards Bianca and I with his hands in his pockets. "How long are you gonna keep me waiting, Nate?" Hugh said impatiently. "Woah! Is that your new partner?" Hugh asked me. "Yup! This is Oshawott!" I said. "Osha!" He cheered.

"Hey, what's that in your hand?" Hugh asked. "It's a PokéDex." Bianca said. Hugh looked at me, then the PokéDex, then at Bianca, and then back at me again. "Can I have a PokéDex?" Hugh asked eagerly.

Bianca had this confused look on her face. "Um.... Who are you again?" She asked. "I'm Hugh and I'm going on a journey with my Pokemon partner to search for something very important." He said. "And if I had a PokéDex, I'd be able to become stronger, right?"

"Hmmm..." Bianca pondered. "I don't see why not! and it just so happens that I have a spare PokéDex with me. Here! The more the merrier!" She said happily as she handed the PokéDex to Hugh. "Thanks a lot." Hugh said gratefully. Hugh and Bianca kept talking while me and Oshawott got to know each other.

"We're gonna be the best team, Oshawott!" I said to him. "Oshawott!" He cheered happily.

Wow! I am not tired at all! It's currently 1:40 a.m. and I thought 'Hey? Why not just write the second chapter right now?' And to be completely honest, while I was writing this, I've been listening to The Book of Mormon original soundtrack. It's really good! I absolutely love it. The music is great and it's absolutely hilarious!

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the consistency will stay for a while! Or at least I hope so...
